I'm better today

I got some sleep after I deposited sundry children at their destinations. We have a car lined up for sundry children but it needs some TLC like turn signals and tires. I am looking forward to sundry child being able to take himself to work and to school. After working swing and coming home late at night and having to get up early, my quality of sleep may be affected. Thank God I have the little black dog to sleep with me and make me comfy.

I told my doctor I would give it 3 months and then see what was going on. I have lots and lots of pain in my shoulder and no one seems to want to deal with that. If I can't handle the pain, with meds, something is going to have to be done. I am alternating, 1 week at a time, 800 mg Ibuprofen and 500 mg Naproxen. And of course taking Zantac to guard the stomach. As well as using Lidoderm patches on the sore places.

My uniform is ready. How stylish it is. I need to steal a pair of sox from my kid or go and buy some tomorrow at Target. I have to call the uniform place and find out how to replace my name badge. Mine broke years ago and it is gone. But to get on the website to order new clothes/uniform pieces I need those 6 little numbers. So we shall see what happens.

Not much else to say. I wish my friend a safe journey across the country with her kids to get her grandkids. I wish her son a recovery from his TBI incurred in Iraq and for him to get the best of care at Walter Reed. I wish this war would end.

Ciao Babies...the wind is a coming up.

All this for a job?

Well I am supposed to start work this week, if I can accurately jump through the hoops that the government and the airport authorities have set in front of me. Get fingerprinted again, they haven't changed since the last time I was printed, nor have I been arrested for, charged with or convicted of any capital crimes.

First like a good little soldier I go to the office where I am supposed to be fingerprinted and an officious young man tells me well you're XXX and you should know that you need a birth certificate or a passport to allow you to be fingerprinted. Wait a minute, says I, I was with an HR person yesterday and they said nothing about that. Call HR, oh the airport is wrong, Go back. Ask for so and so. They will correct it. Okay, back in I trot and I get the oh so valued paperclip. Please go stand outside in the line that wraps it's way around the building and we will get you processed. Now mind you this is just for being printed.

After the prints clear ( I've been printed 10 times in my life for various and sundry jobs in banking and education) I go back to HR and get another valued piece of paper and go back to this same office, see the same person at the desk, and get in the same line as before and then get my badge. Is there something wrong with this scenario? Yes. A. Lot. Nothing like wondering what the government is doing.

So when I finally get back to work, and mind you this is going to be a light duty assignment, I will be working swing and being nice to people. This I can do.

Tonight I am going to watch House and go to bed and get a good nights sleep.

Ciao.

Be vewy vewy carefull. we're hunting ....

Something that makes a lot of noise. Oh hell I don't know what old Elmer is going after. I just thought it was cute.

March is starting to come in like a lion, though not nearly as bad as it is in the South. We've got a nice breeze and the lemon tree that I can see from my window is moving quite nicely. I may have to impose on my kid to jump up on the dog condo and pick some lemons for me.

It's pizza night tonight. We'll get a cheese, olive and tomater for the kid who gave up meat, and a meaty one for the rest of us. I really do like pizza and it's a good meal. Sorry to the others in the world but I do like pizza. The kid works at a place that has pizza for it's main offering as well as tons of kids games. He fixes things. He likes to work with things hands on. And he gets paid so that is good too.

The other kid had a friend over this morning who made curry and made a mess in the kitchen. I do hope that she plans on cleaning it up. I had done the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen and now it's a disaster again. How many pots do you need to make curry????

I faxed in my formal acceptance of the light duty job offer. So that's done. Now I have to go to the main offices on Monday and get reindoctrinated for the job. Good thing I am a cynic. Maybe I'll be lucky and it will take longer than 1 day to get me reindoctrinated, uniformed and badged. I also have to get a parking pass to the employee parking lot. That's not cheap. But it's better than having to take the train and bus to work. I hated that when I was working graveyard. Nothing like being the only person on the train.

I hope my husband gets a job closer to home and will be home at night. After all these years, I rather miss him. I'd feel better if he was home when I came home at midnight from work. I am praying that something will come up. His contract is almost over and I am praying that the company he is working for will offer him a full time job.

I think I am going to go downstairs and read for a while. I need to read.

Ciao.

See This????? I was there!

This is a place that I have fond memories of from my childhood. It was a resort on Lake Nokomis in northern Wisconsin. My mom said I can tell you which was the bar stool I used to like best. IT was run by a couple who were from Chicago and they were a pair. She liked her beer. And when she was plastered she was either the nicest person you'd ever meet or the meanest in the world. I can remember playing hopscotch on the floor and spinning around on the stools. There was a jukebox on the wall on the left side with a deer head over it. I can remember playing Gene Pitney's Town Without Pity when I had a nickel to put in it. Oh God, the memories that this brings back.

Had a down day Friday. Didn't feel good and threw up early. Changed my doctor's appt to next week or next available. Slept till after noon. NO energy, no nothing. I think I am just having a natural reaction to the change that is about to come.

I am going out tonight. I hope it's fun. A bunch of people that I know through a message board. Should be interesting I hope. IF not, I can walk home.

Lights went out last night. I love it when you call edison and they say they have no idea of what happened or how long it will last. We came home and then went out to dinner at Chilis. By the time we came back we had lights. Dogs were freaked though.

Time for more laundry.
Ciao. Babies.

oh brother....

The DOL in it's wisdom and relying upon the observations of their insurance doctor who saw me for 15 minutes says I can go back to work on light duty. My light duty will be checking id's , telling people not to forget their belongings and working the exit lane. So we shall see what happens.

I am seeing my ortho doctor tomorrow to go over the limitations and see what gives. I dont' mind going back to work, but the reasons I can't go into an office position are ludicrous. The govt says, the people in those positions are qualified to work at the airport and must be able to be called back to duty. Now why wouldn't they consider putting someone who is qualified but unable to lift bags, screen passengers etc into an office? No way no how. So I will see how it goes and then I will make a decision as to whether I can do it or not.

I just swept the back porch and that was a big no no. Pain and more pain right now.

This ANS mess is so sad. Just bury her, test the kid and let someone raise her. I think that HKS is a bloodsucking parasite. Too bad.

More when I feel like something special would be worth writing about.

Monday Musings...James T. Kirk is not awesome?

In honor of the Star Trek stuff today on The History Channel I had to post this picture. I will be watching the show and thinking about how the shows evolved. STNG was my favorite, but I came to enjoy Voyager. I didn't like Enterprise.

I went to the Hilton and experienced the Experience. Had a good time at that. Ate at Quarks even. Something about the mystique.

I have an appointment on Friday with my doctor. I think that after being seen by him for nearly 4 years, there is a slight chance he has more ideas about what I can and cannot do than a person who saw me for 9 minutes. Gotta love 2nd opinions with insurance doctors.

Kid #1 worked an entire day at his new job and enjoyed it. He's going to be doing a lot of different things and learning a lot too. It will work in his favor when it comes to moving on in the future. He will be going to church on Ash Wednesday since he will be working weekends for the near future.

Kid #2 has dance and voice rehearsals all afternoon. I don't think I will be able to see the musical. Maybe I can go to a dress rehearsal since I have to work nights for a while.

Errant husband took me out to lunch today. That was nice. He fixed the garage door at my mom and stepdads this weekend before the rain came.

The weather really changed yesterday, from sunny to cold and cloudy. Nice gentle rain though. We needed that.

Ciao all.

Work? You want me to Work>>>>

So I go back to work, albeit on light duty for an indefinite assignment in 2 weeks. I'll be at a terminal that I know well, and upstairs at an area I know well too. Working swing. That will cause a problem, so we need to look into getting a 2nd car that we can trust.

Especially since #1 child now has a full time job fixing machines at a pizza place and going to school full time too. He will be busy but it will be good for him and for us. And for taking his sister to school since I won't be getting home before midnight most nights.

Lots of things to do before I go back to work. Uniforms, badges, parking, all those things that mean so much. I haven't worn the uniform since Sept 03 so there might be some problems with the ones I've got. I have a call into HR to deal with that.

And then to add to all the fun is the lovely delectable case worker who can't read what was sent to her. Nuff said.

Sam's Club was fun. Not as crowded as Costco. Need to go back when I've got a decent paycheck and load up the freezer. Will be doing crockpot and pre prepped meals while I am working.

Arm hurts. Not as bad as somedays but I will use a lidoderm patch on the biceps bulge tonight before I go to bed.

Church tomorrow and a poetry reading and new book publishing party in the afternoon. That will be fun I hope. Depending on how the person I am going with behaves.

Crabby today. Spouse didn't come home last night. Slept in the motorhome at a friends after being at a party. I had to be the driver to pick up the kiddo #2 since she went to a bball game and they won. They beat Beverly Hills, and Master P ( late of Dancing with the Stars) was there not cheering on his son, Little Romeo. Los Osos is next on the dance card.

Time to go.
Ciao.

16 February, 2007

So it's a Friday afternoon

Not much different than any other day, but I am waiting on a call from the ortho's office so I can get in there and see him. I need a shot in the shoulder because if something doesn't get done, it's going to be a short time working light duty. Yep, the flack doctor that I saw said I can work light duty with restrictions, but what restrictions? Could I be privy to what he says I can and cannot do? It is my life and job situation after all?
Ah but this is the US Government we are dealing with after all. I can't lift suitcases anymore and since my biceps muscle was cut, I really don't have much luck lifting and moving things. So what do we do? Hmmm. Life.

And such good things, my uniforms don't fit any more. I have no ID badge. I have no airport ID. We shall see won't we?

All this ANS shit is so odd. Wonder why she didn't change her will after she got PG with #2. I am sure she didn't plan on her son dying, but the lawyer knew what the will said. I think we'll never know all the truth about this death and the mess that has followed.

Remember the message board fiasco, now it's getting hot again. I have not weighed in but if I did I would say for the love of God, let it go. It's done and over. Nothing like bitching and snarky women and people attacking other people and you insulted my friend so I'm going to insult you. It's just depressing for me as a friend whose friend was attacked in the first place.

So now. I have just finished making a lunch run for the kiddo #2 and dropping off some money so she can go to a CIF bball game tonight. Being a senior, she has some friends on the team that she would like to support. She went to nearly all the football games. She loves football. I had bought a sandwich yesterday at a bakery and the thing was on a footlong roll and filled with meat. So I had them cut it in half and wrap it. There was mayo and mustard packets with it and I threw in a baggie of cut pepperoncini which she loves. She's good to go.

Just a little tired today. I also have a headaches which could be part of the change in the weather.

So off we go into the wild blue yonder....
Ciao. Babies.

Oh yeah

And the idiots on the other message board are still trying to figure out why someone unregistered. It's NOTDB but they are postulating away. You know what people, give it up. There were enough stupid comments to last a lifetime. If you had said the same thing to me I might have been banned for life for my reply. The site is supposed to be about a form of sisterhood, and sometimes there is support and love. But then it's not to say that there aren't some strange people who actually believe that if they don't have a man they aren't complete. Others who leave their husband and kids and get into addictive substances and bad business decisions? Or whose husband has left one trophy wife for another and the first one needs a man. I need a BOB. Men are highly overrated sometimes. rant over. walk on by.

Waiting to wash the Perm....

I don't much care for Valentines Day. I got a phone call from my husband at lunch time, but I don't get cards, flowers, chocolate or anything from anyone. It's been years since I've had a gift. Not that I care alot since it's a retailers holiday.

Next week Lent starts. The kid #2 will give up meat. But she's okay with eating fish and veggies. She could live on sushi if she could afford it.

Kid #1 has an interview tomorrow morning. I am praying that he gets the job. He could help with the cell phone bill and the cable bill since he uses both more than anyone. Though I do spend a lot of time online, being a news junkie.

AI was dull last night. I'll watch it tonight since there is not much else on. Thank God it's a new Bones tonight. And we have to wait 3 weeks for new House episodes???? I did watch some Court TV today. Lots and lots of stuff on Anna Nicole as well as some stuff from the FLDS trial in UT about the polygamist and his 3 wives and numerous kids who were on welfare. Bleed the beast is the name of that game.

One of these days I am going to get a different keyboard. The apple one is okay but it's so small. I like bigger ones that are more ergonamic? With Apples you are sometimes limited in what you can use. The kiddo is using a Logitech and when it got all nasty the husband person put it in the dishwasher, sans cords and it works like new. This one is getting nasty too.

Tomorrow I can wash my hair for the first time since Monday when I got a perm. I can't wait. It's been getting wet when I shower, but I need to wash it. But it had to be 3 days in between so tomorrow morning. I am glad to have a perm. It's been a very long time since I had a perm, so my grey is showing through. Like batwings. I like them.

Nothing else is going on. So Ciao Babies!

High Schools and Musicals

The kid #2 had a script read through for the musical she is in tonight. She was so tired when I picked her up. She said to me Mom I think if you come, either come opening night or closing night. It's not going to be a good show. The dialouge is lame and the actors are not thrilling. She is going to be in the chorus but has done other musicals. I trust her. And I have to promise to bring several flats of water to the drama room so the kids can drink or cook food. I don't know about that. And the teacher has scheduled the parents meeting for Ash Wednesday. Well sorry, I am occupied that night. Holy Day of Obligation and all that. Church starts at 7PM and that overrides any drama practice.

So she was starved. We stopped at the market and I went to the Deli section and picked up some poor boy sandwiches and pepperonicini slices and some cheese and that's what dinner was. I bought 3 good sized sandwiches in a package for 3.98$ and divied them up between me and the boys. The kiddo picked out her own sandwich.

American Idol tonight and then House. Then I am going to read some more of this 700+ page book called The Crimson Petal and the White which is actually good.

I'm on a message board that I've been active on for about 3 years. I've met some neat people IRL and online. A friend made a snarky comment about one of her kids and one of the oh so perfect people on the board made a nasty comment on the board to her. It should have been taken to email, but oh no. So the good friend had her self unregistered and she said she may lurk. I don't get into pissing matches with people, it just uses up too much energy that I don't have to waste. Gotta wonder though don't ya?

It's noisy up here tonight but it is too cold downstairs. I had a fire going but I think I will stay up here and watch tv when it's time.

Ciao Babies!!!!

Oh why do I try anyway?

I need to go to Never Never land and just take a freaking vacation. Take my stack of books, have unlimited cold tasty drinks and just enjoy some quiet time.

Oh yes, there is quiet time here but it's never satisfying. The phone rings, the door is knocked, the dogs are whining about something trivial.

A real vacation. And not one in the motorhome where I am still expected to cook, do dishes, make the bed into a couch and have a good time. Me thinks it's a ripoff. Big time.

No football till September now. The Pro Bowl holds no interest for me. I did however get sucked into the NC - Duke game because the nephew of someone on one of the boards I frequent plays for NC. #50. That was an exciting game. Oh well I have my DVR filled with lots of stuff I need to watch.

Onto bigger and better things. Husband is heading for Costco. Kid #2 goes with to supervise. I am not leaving the house. And it's supposed to rain. I will believe it when I see it. SHoulder hurts like a mutha today though.

Ciao Babies.

To sleep perchance to dream?????

I'd sure like to know why I dream about one specific person who I have never met but who has come to me in my dreams for a very long time. Some times these dreams are so vivid and real that you roll over and expect to see the person next to you. And it is only one person. No one else. Strange things these dreams. Might be nice if one day I meet this person and ask them if they have strange dreams too? Eeek.

Life is going on as normal. Truck repairs cost a bloody fortune. But now the mileage is better, the engine doesn't stink, and it passed smog. The guy in front just bought 2 new used cars. A BMW 525i and a C Class Jag. One day I may borrow the Jag just to say I drove it and could dream about owning one. I've driven X-5s, Cadillacs, and Mazdas and I still like my Chevy. But there is something elegant about stepping out of a Jag in jeans and a sweatshirt. Hahahahahaha.

Dogs are doing okay. Cat must be hungry. She's being nice to me. I should let the dogs in and see how long that lasts. Oh I know I am a bitch. I just get tired of being played. Such is life, eh?

Didn't sleep well last night. I think I drank too much water too late. Trying to calm the savage cough that I have. I may have to go to the doctor and see what it is. I just hate going in to the office and paying 15$ to hear it's just a cough and it has to work it's way out. And then oh by the way, here's a Rx that is going to cost 10$ or $15 depending on whether or not it's generic and available. Costs going up and checks aren't getting any bigger.

I have to take my Mom to the surgeon today. If my doctor is in the office I am going to talk to him. This pain is becoming less than tolerable and I am just plain worn out. But this is her visit and he will talk to her about her aqua therapy and how it is going.

Not much else. Reading a couple of books, just finished The Sunday List of Dreams by Kris Radish. Am finishing Memories of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Next up is the new SPQ novel and then a couple of others. Hasn't been a big month for ARC's, I screwed up my email address on one of the sites I use. Crap. Oh well maybe reregistering is a good thing.

Cheers Kiddos!
Ciao.

Another Month Gone

I can hardly believe that it's already February. That means 2 birthdays, 2 Monday holidays for the school kids and lots of running around trying to figure out when the bills get paid.

Things are quiet here at the ranch. The dogs are firmly ensconced in their deluxe garage accomodations with comfy dog bed and quilt and pillows along with a lot of wonderful toys to keep them occupied. They are quiet once they don't hear all the noise from above.

If you want to laugh go here:

Rocket J. Squirrel lives up to his name

This is our new friend. He decided to take us for a run today and take Duffy with him. He can run like the wind. I opened the garage door and he and Duffy went after the cats. Big Mistake. He'll be 3 on Valentines day. He wants to be inside and cries alot. What he really wants is to check out the cat. the cat wants nothing to do with him. I hope to God I have the energy for this. We will be making trips to the Dog Park quite often with this one to let him run and get his yayas out. Have to have 2 people since one dog goes to big dog park and other one goes to little dog park.

Kid #2 has finals this week. She is off to library with her study group so she can do well on her gubmint final. I hope she does well. She is really turning out to be quite the student. No AP classes for her. And no extra college classes.

I don't understand these kids who graduate with their high school diploma as well as their AA from a community college. I think kids need a transistion from high school to college. I know I wasn't ready to go to a 4 year school when I was 18. I loved school no matter what.

You have no idea what a disappoint it was for me when I actually started to teach and most of the kids I taught could have cared less. It was an example of apathy at the highest level. Of course these kids had been told they were crap since they were little so why would one teacher make a difference? i had kids who were had such severe mental illness that they belonged in hospitals and not in classrooms. Kids whose parents thought that to solve the ADD all their kids had , was to give them sugar. Yep, good old sugar. And when their kid punched through a window in a door because he was late to class, that it was the teachers fault for obeying the instructions of the principal to shut the door when the last bell rang. Oh the stories I could tell. The kid who slugged me in the abdomen when I was trying to get kids out to lunch. I should have filed a police report on that. Oh the things I know now that I didn't know then.

Well tonight is meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy and veges. Need to go defrost the meat. Sounds good to me.

Ciao.

What is this falling from the sky???

Yes!!! It's raining. We need it. There may even be thunder lately. I don't know when or where, but it's raining.

We are thinking about adopting another GSP. He's nearly 3 and he looks pretty sweet. The kids and I are supposed to go and meet him today. of course it all comes down to the big guy. We shall see.

Life goes on. High school has finals this week. 1/2 days and then Friday off.

DHS says no work till after 6-30-07. Tenative date of return. I can't lift 70 lbs so I won't be going back to doing any thing like that. I hurt too much to even think about it. Hell I can't even lift a gallon of milk, how in the hell am I supposed to think about a suitcase. And waving a wand is a joke.

Not much else exciting. I am jazzed about the rain though.

Ciao.

Still coughing like the energizer bunny

This is getting really old. I think I may have to break down and see the doc and ask for some codeine and something to stop this damn hacking. And it's time to refill the BP meds too. Must make appointment.

Life is generally going on okay. I made lasagna from scratch for dinner. It's in the oven now. I couldn't mix the cheeses up though, had to ask for help. My arm just screamed when I did that. Hope it tastes good. Lots of cheese in it and I added extra sauce.

Dog got groomed. Cutie patootie. Tried to hump an elderly English setter who wanted nothing to do with him. Dumb dog but cute.

Kids are fine. Husband worked 6 days this week. He's still tired and Lord almighty he snored like a chainsaw last night. I didn't sleep well at all. Tonight I will take the sleeping pill and hope that it works.

Supposed to rain. I see clouds but no rain. House is even cold upstairs.

A Dry Unproductive Cough

Well....that is what I have had for the last couple of weeks. It's just really irritating but it's like a choo choo train that just needs to keep chugging along. Cough, cough, deep cough....

Nothing terribly exciting has been going on. Kids to school, running errands and just finishing up a couple of books that I had started. I am waiting on the delivery of the new Kris Radish book, Sunday List of Dreams. That should be fun to read.

American Idol === God the losers are just that. I can't wait till next week when House and Bones come back with new episodes. I can't take all this crap. Yesterday I watched my very first episode of 24. That is kind of a scary show. I am not too thrilled with the a bomb going off in Valencia. No more Magic Mountain in that show's time line. Oh well.

Sometimes there's just not a lot to write about. Normal things going on, being a mom and being sore.

Ciao.

Listening, an art to Master

I am listening to A Young Lutheran's Guide to the Orchestra. It is so wonderful. Garrison Keillor has such a way with words. I've met him and seen APHC in person a couple of times here on the West Coast. It is neat to listen to him describe the different parts of an orchestra to a bunch of people, a goodly number of them who are midwestern Lutherans.

Warmer today but still pretty cool at night. The dog curled up so close to me last night. He wanted to get up at 0300 to go outside so I threw him out there and he did what he had to do and came back and curled up. After I got up he trotted down the hall and went to see the boychild and slept with him.

I wrote to my case worker a while ago and I still haven't heard anything. In the meantime I suffer. Wonder if they ever got hurt and had to wonder what was going on? A nice cushy government job. Oh to wish?

Still no news on the inlaws. Sent an email and not one answer. Guess they are either too busy to answer or we are still SOL with them. Not that I care.

Now we've switched to Asleep at the Wheel. I love Texas Boogie. Makes me wanna dance which I cannot do.

So, have a nice day out in the ether.

Ciao.

I want orange chicken....

I tried to do this on Safari but it didn't seem to like me so I am back to Mozilla. Works well, so why change?

Rain and cold off and on with sun peaking through. Grapevine is closed. WhooHoo.

Am having Panda Express tonight for dinner. Already decided. I smelled some orange chicken last night and it was so tempting. Will send the kid out tonight to get some for all of us.

I don't even know what day it is. That's how confused I am. I think I am going to take a nap this afternoon and try to catch up on the sleep that I miss at night. Just a bit of stress. No that's not true, a whole freaking truckload of stress and I am not dealing with it well at all.

Well it's time to turn the computer to sleep for a while and do something good for me.

Ciao.

Damn Dog

Oh I am pissed off. The dog chewed through my ear bud wires. Now I can't listen to my Ipod. I am not a happy camper. He's in his crate now and every so often there's a bark. Tough shit. He gets to stay there for a while. I can't replace them till Friday, but I will and they will stay in their little case. How come he doesn't chose to chew the ones my kids leave all over everywhere. And don't get me started on shoe laces. Yes he's not 2 yet, yes he's in need of training. He chewed the handle on his leash for cripes sake. I need some quiet time in a nice room with a view and a spa tub and a bottle of a nice Chardonnay cooled very cold.

I didn't need that today. Kid #1 got po'ed at the father after the father yelled at him last night, went out with his friends to another friends house and watched Firefly DVD's and came home at 4AM without a key. Had to call his sister to unlock the door so he could get in. Am I happy? Well i was pissed off at his father too and had to stay in the same room with him.

You gotta wonder sometimes dont' you?

Ciao.

¿ Que Pasa?

YES, I should be paying lots and lots of money for all the whining I've done in the last 4 years. Today the pain level was maybe 7-8 and I finally sucked it up and went out. I have not left the house in 3 days. But we went to Costco, big friggin mistake. Left the basket, did get gas though, cheaper than anywhere else. Then to Vons and found something my mom was looking for. Made her happy.

Kids are making noise. Glad they are down stairs. I have turned the heater off, but will turn it on to 58º tonight. It was a sauna in here last night. Not so cold outside today. But chilly.

I miss my big brown dog. the little black dog is okay but I truly miss my big brown dog.

Nothing else new. We had mail today, WTF was that???? I thought postal offices were closed. Oh well. Not that anything exciting except the cable bill came. Whew. I wonder if we need all those channels?

Aliens is on the tv behind me droning on. I am not terribly thrilled but there is no football and I like this one and Alien Resurrection of all of them. It's like I really enjoy watching Terminator 2, but could care less about the other 2.

No pain pills tonight. 3 glasses of white zin rule that out. I will put on a lidoderm patch and see if that helps. Not that I expect it to. It hasn't yet.

Well not much else to update. Little black dog is gnawing on a crust of pizza. He doesn't like the good stuff, he only likes the crust. Smart dog. I don't like crust.

Time to end and to prepare for the week.
Ciao.

Clavicle Shmalivical

Okay, so what gives? Why does the shoulder ache so bad and have pain across the top and bottom of the right clavicle? Where are the muscles that really hurt and why does the pain keep on coming.

Like last week, I missed the 2nd half of the afternoon football game. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. Not to mention that it is colder than cold down there, even with the fire going. It's just not fun. Slept for a couple of hours and feel a little better. Tomorrow will be a so/so day, have the whole crew again thanks to the MLK holiday.

Damn cold last night and early this morning. i got up to let the pooch out at 0651 and it said 28º on the thermometer on the patio. That is cold. But I have my Hudson Bay Blanket on the bed so it was nice and warm when I crawled back in. The pooch decided to favor the 2nd kid with his presence so that was okay with me.

Older kid went to the Queen Mary to see RHPS last night. He had fun. He's got some good friends. I did tell him that the weeknight curfew is now midnight. His sister has to go to school and she needs sleep too. She won't sleep with me because she says I snore. Oh the horror...me snoring? No. Can't. Be. True.

The Patriots versus the Colts. Go Colts.
The Bears versus the Saints. Go Bears.

These are just what I want. Would be a lot of fun.

Not much else tonight. at 2045 it's 46º outside. Brrrrr.

Ciao. Babies.

Tell me whacha want what ya really really want

The weather is changing. My hands are cold today and my shoulder hurts like a sunnaofabitch. It hurt most of the night too. Could't get a comfy position to stay in. Such fun, and then the dog decided that sometime after 3AM he was the most important being in the room and he had to get me awake to let me know that. I said sorry pooch, I am staying in my semi warm bed and going to sleep. I am tired of being cold.
But I did get up and out of bed to take my kid to school since her brother has a headache and considering the hours he's been keeping he gets to sleep in today. She didn't make the play but that's no great loss. Unless you were one of the drama teachers favorite little twinkies you didn't have much of a chance. I told her to excel in her singing class and forget about the play. She's got much more important things coming up for her than that.

I hope this year is better than last. Scraping by is not the way I envisioned my life.

And oh yeah, David Beckham is joining the LA Galaxy. Does that mean the hallowed environs of Beverly Hills will meet and greet his oh so anoxeric wife and they will be BFF with da stahsssss???? I don' give a flying f**k. So there.
Ciao.

From Hot and Windy to Cold and Wet and a Shuffle or something like it

That's what the weather guys are saying. From beach weather to light a fire and curl up.
The fires last night really were scary, especially since they were on the ocean side and not in the hills. I am sure the people are insured and they will rebuild.

So far so good in the new year. Just staying ahead of the pain.

Here's the Shuffle for a Tuesday night:

1. The Young Lutheran's Guide to the Orchestra ////////Garrison Keillor
2. The Devil Went Down to Jamaica ///////Weird Al
3. This Old House
///////Bette Midler
4. Act 2- Finale
///////Spamalot
5. Lord, I Want To Be A Christian
///////Chanticleer
6. He Shall Purify Them
///////Handel's Messiah
7. In The Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening
///////Bette Midler
8. Diva's Lament ( What Happened to my Part?)
/////// Spamalot
9. The Thrill is Gone
///////B B King & Eric Clapton
10. Louie Louie
///////The Kinks

And that is all she wrote.......

4 days into the new year

So far 2007 isn't much different than 2006.
I spent most of the 1st of the year sitting in an ER with my Mom. I had the good sense to call 911 to get her transported so she would get a room. The ER was jammed and we were there 6 hours. She waited 3 hours to be seen. People were getting nasty and rude and it was not a pleasant thing. She will be seen by a pain mgmt specialist next week and hopefully that will be the start of something good. I pray that it is.

Got some interesting books to read. A Kathy Reich' novel and a non fiction book written by a female neurosurgeon. Then I have 3 Nora Roberts to read. Slowly but surely.

The clouds are here. It wasn't cloudy earlier. I guess we are getting some rain perhaps.

Shoulder hurts. Nothing new there.

Ciao, babies.

Here's to 2007!

The News Drones on and on and on and on and ...

CNN is droning on in the background. I have it on for white noise. But now Mr SH can see if the 7 virgins waiting for him are nuns with rulers and an evil dispostion. Bwahahahaha. I wonder if it will change things in Iraq?

I had a hot toddy earlier. Gentleman Jack, lemon juice, sugar and hot water. I hope it will do some good. My ears feel like there is cellophane in them. Crinkle, crackle, crinkle.

Tomorrow I am going to go on a mission to replace a small appliance. I have looked several places online but haven't found it. I will look at a couple more places and see if there is anything even close to it. And also hit the book store, hit Ross for a new purse and then come home and watch FOOTBALL.

I have the new Nora Roberts triology. This isn't going to read as fast as her other books. I just finished 2 advance reads though. One a mystery set in Southern CA and one set in a village without men in Colombia. Both were extremely good.

My kids got me the 1st season of Bones. It's a lot of fun. Reminds me of the Xfiles, but with a sense of humor, not that DD and GA didn't have a sense of humor, but CC didn't allow them to work with a group and express it. This one rocks.

Oh well. 2007 is around the corner. I have 2 calendars already. I need to get myself a small purse calendar too.

Ciao!

One holiday down

It was a nice holiday. Gifts and laughs and lots of good food.
Woke up with a miserable cold on Tuesday and it's not much better today. I am pushing fluids, not talking if I don't have to and just lagging behind everything.
I have DVD's to watch.
Kids had a good holiday.
Lots of good food. Crab, shrimp, sammies, honey baked ham. Waiting on the hambone to make pea soup. Sounds good on a cold and windy day like today.
Enjoy your week.
Ciao.

We celebrated our 21st anniversary yesterday. Who'da thunk?

I saw the lump of coal today

But it was chocolate coated popcorn balls. I think tomorrow I am going to go to the market and buy them just for the hell of it. I am also going to tear apart the living room and make my son help me because I think there is some spirit creeping into my life.

I had an astrology chart made for me. Considering it's computer generated, it's rather accurate. Hmm. I don't put much stock in those things but what the hey, it was free. Just some printer paper.

My friend is getting snowed in but she'll have green grass on Christmas I bet. It's strange when the snow falls in places that are used to it, life goes on. Here, in the passes, it's such a strange occurence that people get all frazzled and freaked.

Back to the antibiotics. I hope they knock this shit out. I don't need my jaw giving me more problems, especially this weekend. I may call them and ask them to refill the scrip just for good luck.

I managed to get out of driving to BFE for Christmas. We are going to go to my Moms. My mom is sicker than hers and I don't know how many Christmases we are going to have with them. Mom's 82 and Paul's 86, and it will be peaceful, easy and just us on Christmas afternoon. If we drove out to
BFE it would be us, 3 SIL/ 4 BIL's, 5 kids under 13, MIL and various sundry other people. + 4 dogs. This way the husband and the kids can go out on the 30th and visit. I can plead sickness or something. I just don't want to deal. And at my Mom's I can have a glass or 3 of wine and not feel like I am going to be crucified on the cross. Their house is dryer than the Sahara midsummer, it's not "The Christian" way of doing things.

And then there is the deaf BIL who is sending me emails left and right to get serial numbers and things off the Imac that my daughter has adopted and which is going back to the original owner. We don't mind that but to have a conversation with him, is really hard because he has no sense of syntax in his speaking /patterns. They will get the whole shebang back when the troops make the trip out.

So life goes on. I have a few places to start tomorrow as far as shopping and I will do that.
I got an online coupon from World Market that I can use at their store. I loved Cost Plus and they have improved over the years. I know what I want to get there and I hope I can do it in one felt swoop.

So that's it in a nutshell.

holiday cheer....?

It's supposedly all around me but for the life of me I can't figure out where it went and why I can't locate mine. I absolutely have no spirit this year. Could it be for the following reasons:
● Lack of funds
● Lack of help from the kids to get the house ready
● Worry about parents illnesses
● Constant and continious pain
● Worry about same
● husband who spends nearly 90$ before Christmas on some putty to mend his
trucks manifold?
● Kid who expects a Nintendo Wii when I don't have money to buy groceries and he didn't get off his game playing ass to get a job in the fall when he needed to
● Other kid who's room looks like the wrath of whomever and shines me on.
● Can't find lumps of coal but I think it's going to be rampant around this house
● Just feeling blue

Oh well, this is Monday and it can be a day for me to just whine a little. Tomorrow will be better. I will manage. We may have paper dolls for presents but at least we will still have roof over our head God willing.

Where is my holiday spirit, can you find it????

Okay where are you hiding it? Did it get shoved into the back of the closet? I want to know and I want to know now!!!

Got some ideas for gifts today at Cost Plus. I need to go back there by myself with cash and put together some baskets of goodies for some people. Just a few. But since I have no money till next weekend, we'll just have to wait. Bah.
Humbug.

I am going to have to say sorry to the trip to the groomers. I can't afford the gas to drive around and my checkbook is so low that it's going to have red rubber soles soon .
But I am taping the dog show for my friend to take to the owner of the dog who was in the Eukanuba / Long Beach show the 1st weekend of this month. It's taping now.

Went to church today. Roof did not fall in. Had to come right home since child had a Christmas party to attend to. She made goodie bags for lots of people at the party. Cute.

Walmart wasn't too nuts yesterday. That was nice. But it sure was warm inside that store and cold when you stepped outside. Right now the fireplace is going and the heater will come on soon and make it warm upstairs. One more week of schlepping the child to school. Hope I can make it.

We have our 21st anniversary this week. Who would have thought it?

Happy days.
Ciao!!!
