Outside my window… 64º, clear and windy

I am thinking…  how long will it take to sell the house

I am thankful for…       All that Mom left me

From the learning rooms …  I’ve officially retired from teaching

I can't believe . . . How crappy the Monte Carlo/Parc was

From the kitchen . . . No idea. No inspiration.

I am wearing…     comfy jeans and a big shirt

I am creating. .  Not much. Just working on things one day at a time

I am going . . . to enjoy not seeing Infinity War.

I am reading . . . James Comey’s book

I am hoping…  to get lots of things done Monday

I am hearing…  Water running.

Around the house…  2 dogs, 1 cat, niece and boyfriend

A few plans for the rest of the week…

1.  Email information to attorney

2.  Go to the bank and get the investment accounts done

Down a lazy river....

A huge military helicopter just flew over and shook the rafters. Don't usually see them here or that low. I'm used to seeing the sheriff's copter doing rotations and using this area as a pivot point.

The trip the Las Vegas was nice. I took some of my mom's ashes and spread them at Willow Beach which is about 11 miles downriver from the Hoover Dam. It was peaceful and nice. They ban outboard motors on Sundays and Mondays so the kayakers and rafters don't have to fight with them. It's 4 miles from Hwy 93 to the river downhill. They had a bad storm and some of the road down washed out. Basically a gully washer. We got in for free because I have my disabled National Parks and Wildlife Refuge card.

I was displeased with the hotel. I ate dinner along and it was over $60. No cheap eats. We woke up to the sound of jackhammers. The day we left we had a late check out and they turned the water off. I was getting ready to take a shower and no water. Couldn't brush my teeth either. Luckily we had a bottle of water with us and I brushed my teeth.  The Monte Carlo is transforming into the Parc and we're not going back there.

If you look closely you can see a rope and a cable hanging down in front of the window in our suite. The last morning we also had a window washer trolley go past.

Glad to be home. We now have 2 dogs and 1 cat and a niece living with us.

This is what I need now.

We didn't go for our anniversary since my mom was so sick. I need a change of scenery. I'll take my swim suit but if I don't go in, I don't care.
I need to get away.

We will see LOVE by Cirque de Soleil and enjoy Beatles songs.

I can't believe . . .   We are actually going to Las Vegas

From the kitchen . . . I haven’t decided.

I am wearing…     my jammies with Scotties on them.

I am creating . . nothing exciting at the moment

I am going. . .  Paterno on HBO

I am reading. . . all kinds of books

I am hoping…  the med works for the dog

I am hearing…  Local weather.... It's hot!

2nd Cardiology Appointment

It's been about a month since the AFIB started and his hospital stay. His sugars are still up and down, and though his doctor says he should be on meds, he steadfastly says no. His mom was a brittle type 1 as was his grandfather. I'll keep nudging him, but he's pretty firm on his low carb high protein meals. We'll see what is going on for sure.

1 good thing. A trip to Vegas to see the Cirque show Love is upcoming. A change of scenery. Nice hotel suite, relaxing view (I don't care if I see the mountains, though the airport would be better). All those evenings playing MyVegas.com on my tablet have paid off. And we're finally taking the KIA on a road trip.

This month I apply for social security and for Medicare. Keep getting all these things in the mail. Plus I have to do taxes; for me and for a kid. Argh.

When all is said and done, house sold and amounts distributed, we are, in September 2019 taking an Alaska cruise. My brother says why? "You'll just sit and read". I said. "But the scenery!"Oh well. It's on NCL and will be on what is now their newest ship the Bliss. I have something to look forward to. Me.Him. Kid 1, Kid 2, Bonus Kid. Gonna be fun. Unlimited drinks package and 3 specialty dining restaurants. Oh yeah.

Still missing my little dog. Big dog still has crap coming out from her paw after soaking. But she's not as wild as she was. I had to take the cone of shame collar off, she had basically destroyed it. Might have to get a soft collar for her.

No church Easter. Still not ready to go in and not see Mom.

I'm sitting here with my Lallybroch melt filling the room with the smell of a fireplace and whisky and peat. Like a well seasoned library with shelves and shelves of books.
