Listening to....

Blake Shelton singing duets with Lionel Richie. Brings back a lot of good memories.

A typical week at the rancho cuckoo. Work for some, job searching for others, peace for some. Wrangling the mutt for a walk or for a ride. Projects upcoming, planting the small Christmas tree, cleaning out desks, floors and getting some spot cleaning done on the carpets.

Lovely day today.
Time to start washing the bedding.
Life goes on.

Peace

Outside my window. . . 73, real windy and cloudy

I am thinking… windows need to be shut

I am thankful for…  a safe trip

From the learning rooms… Storm is offshore wind is blowing a gale

I can't believe . . . It was 84 when I went shopping

From the kitchen. . . Pea soup with ham

I am wearing…  jeans shorts, sleeveless top and slippers

I am creating . . . a quiet place to meditate

I am going…   to stir the soup soon

I am reading . . . a novel about Mozart’s wife

I am hoping…  to have a nice evening

I am hearing…  KABC 7 4 PM news

Around the house. . .  kitchen is clean
One of my favorite things… air travel

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.  Fold all the clothes
2.  Find a good chicken recipe
3.  Thank God.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing:

Why is it.....

That after you come home from a trip you experience such a let down? This too shall pass.

It's just one of those things that happen I know. So I'll just manage to get life back on a normal track I guess.

Standing on a corner ......

in Winslow Arizona

"Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
we will never be here again
so open up, I'm climbin' in,
so take it easy "

So I ordered...

an item from an Amazon site. It was shipped on Thursday from someplace in NY. Today I hit the tracker and it's leaving Brooklyn today. Not a good thing. I needed the item by Thursday. I ordered it on the 9th. Now I have to go out and buy one so I have it for my trip to Las Vegas. Grrr. But then I will have 2.

Tomorrow I make my list and get the suitcase out of the garage. Then I start to pack. Joy.

Also see the stylist and get something done with the curly masses.

Looking forward to being in an airplane and getting to our destination.

I haven't decided if I am going to blog the experiences, but there might be a surprise on Saturday morning. Yeah, just to keep you interested.

Later!

Ever get a shot..............

in the pad of your hand right below your finger into the nerve channel?

Take it from one who knows, it hurts like an SOB. And I don't mean just a little. A needle that's 1 1/2 inches long poked into the soft part of your hand. Yeah. Pain. Major Pain. Marcaine and Cortisone. Finger doesn't hurt because it's numb.
Lord almighty, have mercy on me.

Yeah, just like this, except I had Betadine all over the area.
Now we wait 2 months and if it still catches then we go in for surgery. This poor hand has had it's number of injuries.

Peace

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Why ask you is she so excited? Why is she screaming at the top of her lungs?
She got an iPhone!

After 4 years of Samsung Reality, I got an iPhone.
Not the fancy one with Siri. I don't need Siri to help me do things.
I can share all my apps from my iTouch and I'm really happy.
I'm locked in for 2 more years, but hey!

The rain is gone for the time being. This week we go on vacation and I am so happy we're going to be out of here for a while. Just to sleep somewhere else, eat out and have a quiet place. I'll have photos to share. For real. For sure.

Peace!

Rain! Waterspouts! Thunder! Lightning!

Today it was predicted that we would have a good old fashioned storm. And we did. The house shook from some close lightning which had boomers accompanying it. I loved it. The dog was all curled up with his blanket around him and I was sitting at my desk reading the news.

Got some things done though. The house is clean, the dishes are done (not put away but they are washed and in the drainer), animals are fed.

We didn't light a fire, but I turned the trusty heater on. The heater that is in our hall has not been lit at all. I prefer a cooler bedroom. You can definitely feel the warmth as you come out our door though.

The doors, humor me as I tell you about the bedroom with a french door on it. Clear glass to see through and see what's in here. Same with the door to the master bedroom area. We went to Big Lots and bought 4 bamboo beach mats. 2 for us and 2 for my daughter's room since her bedroom leads out to the patio. Another thing on my list of odd things that are here. Spa still doesn't work. 3 more months and I'm going to address the issues. The never ending disaster that is the side yard:
We pay an awful lot of rent for this place yet we can't use any of the yard. It's got junk all over it and even though they promised that the yard would be dealt with, it hasn't been. I like the house, but I am bummed that I can't use the yard. Those weeds are a lot higher too since the rain, but I won't take the weed whacker out there because of the junk on the path. It's an eyesore.

Time for me to go out and sit and enjoy my living room.

Peace.

Years ago and many galaxies far far away....

There lived a little girl. She had a brother, a mother, and a dad. She loved to read. Nothing better than reading. Always had a  book handy. This is because of this teacher. 3rd grade.

Lectionary for Holy Saturday

Psalm 31:1-5

Prayer and Praise for Deliverance from Enemies

To the leader. A Psalm of David.
In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
   do not let me ever be put to shame;
   in your righteousness deliver me.
Incline your ear to me;
   rescue me speedily.
Be a rock of refuge for me,
   a strong fortress to save me.

You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
   for your name’s sake lead me and guide me,
take me out of the net that is hidden for me,
   for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
   you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

Job 14:1-14

14‘A mortal, born of woman, few of days and full of trouble,
2   comes up like a flower and withers,
   flees like a shadow and does not last.
3 Do you fix your eyes on such a one?
   Do you bring me into judgement with you?
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean?
   No one can.
5 Since their days are determined,
   and the number of their months is known to you,
   and you have appointed the bounds that they cannot pass,
6 look away from them, and desist,*
   that they may enjoy, like labourers, their days.

7 ‘For there is hope for a tree,
   if it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
   and that its shoots will not cease.
8 Though its root grows old in the earth,
   and its stump dies in the ground,
9 yet at the scent of water it will bud
   and put forth branches like a young plant.
10 But mortals die, and are laid low;
   humans expire, and where are they?
11 As waters fail from a lake,
   and a river wastes away and dries up,
12 so mortals lie down and do not rise again;
   until the heavens are no more, they will not awake
   or be roused out of their sleep.
13 O that you would hide me in Sheol,
   that you would conceal me until your wrath is past,
   that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 If mortals die, will they live again?
   All the days of my service I would wait
   until my release should come.

John 19:38-42

38 After these things, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, though a secret one because of his fear of the Jews, asked Pilate to let him take away the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission; so he came and removed his body. 39Nicodemus, who had at first come to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing about a hundred pounds.40They took the body of Jesus and wrapped it with the spices in linen cloths, according to the burial custom of the Jews. 41Now there was a garden in the place where he was crucified, and in the garden there was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid.42And so, because it was the Jewish day of Preparation, and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.

Listen, Lord, to the cries of your poor: break hell's hold,
fling wide  heaven's door.

This is for some people that I really love....

In the words of Amy Winehouse
They said I have to go to church,
and I said
NO NO NO

Go for the heck of it.You might find out that the message is not doom and gloom.

Peace.

Have you ever wondered?

My dad was quite a bit older than my Mom. When I look at pictures of my Dad and me, I think my God, he's the same age there as I am now. But he looks so much older than I do at the same age. I was 11 when he died at age 65. He was still working, and was planning to work several more years. It's strange to think that back when I was born, people were shocked that my mom was pregnant. Now people think nothing of age differences between people. (Most people, I should qualify).

That's all for now. Maybe more later.
