FOR TODAY

Outside my window… Sun peeking through and 72ยบ

I am thinking… that today’s my birthday and I am happy

I am thankful for…my kids, my husband, my mom, my brother and my extended family

From the learning rooms….. Cutting vegetables is for the young shoulders

I can't believe … that these allergies won’t go away

From the kitchen… nothing, I’m going to go out to dinner!

I am wearing… an old tee shirt and shorts that are so worn but so comfy

I am creating…a nice area out by the front of the house

I am going.. to shut my closet doors and relax

I am reading… nothing special right now. Just finished “Heaven is for Real”

I am hoping… to get a manicure and pedicure soon

I am hearing…the Casey Anthony trial on TV

Around the house… Need to hang the paintings

One of my favorite things…. Listening to the ocean

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.   Get the spa cleaned out so we can use it
2.    Spruce up the patio and take the ugly chandelier down
3.    Get some chairs out there to sit in when it’s warm

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing:

The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.

Answer to a statement

Another blogger who I won't identify says that the US has gone to hell in a handbasket because women are working and their families are neglected. Their homes aren't cleaned to an inch of perfection, their children are thieving hooligans and most of all their husbands aren't worshipped.

You know what I say to that:

BULLSHIT
Come out of your pink, bedazzled, cabbage rose cage and smell the coffee or Earl Grey. Read a history book. Read about Victorian households since you strive to be a Victorian/Edwardian woman and see who made the households run. Not the fancy ladies drinking tea from china cups but the hardworking women who left their homes to cook, clean, garden, and raise said women's children.

Now that my blood pressure has come down, I am off to a lovely afternoon of Home Depot, lunch, and fixing our Jacuzzi so I can sit in it with my beer and cogitate on world peace.

Bye!

lalala lalala lalala

Things here at the ranch are settling down. This weekend we hope to get the Jacuzzi cleaned out, sanitized, filled and use it. The wonderful tub is lovely too. The kitchen is shaping up, but I've still got boxes of books to go through. I think I may move them out to the garage and do it later. I really do want to be able to use my closet and hang my clothes up. Maybe tomorrow.

Where we live now is so quiet compared to the old place. We are just up the street from the railroad tracks and we don't hear it at all. We get jets taking off from Long Beach flying over and today the blimp shadowed me. I got so used to sirens and cars and trucks driving by that now the silence is almost deafening.

I went to a 2nd opinion doctor yesterday. An insurance doctor. The kind who does a cursory exam of you to tell your insurance company whether or not you are lying to them about your injury. It was in Santa Monica and I know nothing about Santa Monica. But I had good directions and even though I had to drive around a block I figured out where I was going. And of course parking costs an arm and  a leg. 1.50 for every 20 minutes. I could have looked for metered parking which I get for free since I have a disabled sticker but I didn't want to.

So it's a bit of a ramble and it's time to go to bed.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… Sunny and breezy and low 70’s

I am thinking… that I am glad I went to Bible Study today.

I am thankful for…a wonderful Father’s Day Dinner

From the learning rooms….. Shoulders don’t get better with age

I can't believe … How good things turn out when you just throw them together on the stove

From the kitchen… Probably a precooked chicken…

I am wearing… sandals, jeans and plaid sleeveless top

I am creating…peace in the home.

I am going.. get the boxes of books out of the house and into the garage for a while.

I am reading… Gray Matter by David Levy MD

I am hoping… that things will settle down a bit

I am hearing…the palm trees in the breeze.

Around the house… Putting things in their place

One of my favorite things…. singing

A few plans for the rest of the week…

1.   Unpack more dishes and cookware and put away.
2.   Walk the dog a block more each day.
3.   Use some of my birthday coupons in the next few weeks.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing:

 Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Peace to all.

Abscesses

Misery loves company. That's what they say. I'm taking a horrible antibiotic and pain, OMG pain. I have to take these horse pills.

And this little boy decides to take a walk without a person, ends up getting picked up by animal control and has to spend the night at the shelter. Was I frantic? Was I possessed? Yes. But I got on the phone to animal control, gave them the information, talked to the shelter and bailed him out this morning. He's happy.

Night all,

Hi Tech Kitchen....

Today has been one of those okay/not okay days. I can't figure out how to get the oven turned on in my gosh darn JennAir range. I know there's a way, I read the directions, but I can't figure it out. I even had my son and his friend who are tech savvy try to figure it out. In desperation I sent an email to our owner and perhaps she can lead me through it. I hope so.....

I went to Super Target to get some phone line and a splitter and they had nothing. Zip, Nada, Nope. So I'll go to Frye's on Thursday and get it taken care of. I can wait that long. I got the fax sent and that was a good thing.

The dishwasher still isn't fixed. I did a bunch by hand but that's a bozo nono when it comes to the shoulder. Hurts like mad. So I do a few here and there. I am going to have to enlist the aid of the two children to help me finish if the dishwasher isn't up and running by the weekend.

The walls are still pretty empty here, but we've only been here 4 days, so it stands to reason not everything can be done immediately. We will get the art up soon.

Well that's it for now...

04 June, 2011

I'm not doing this again for awhile

I am going to stay in this house for a while. I tossed and threw out more bags of trash and stuff that had made previous moves and were never opened. I found all my vinyl records, packed too many boxes of books and I know that there is a reason for everything.

This house has a few things that need to be tweaked but I think we can handle it. The plumbing was messed up and we still can't use our dishwasher. All in good time. But our bedroom is larger, we have 2 full bathrooms that work and are nice.

I am going to get a good nights sleep tonight and tomorrow drive to Camarillo to see a friend and do some shopping at the outlet mall. The Corningware store is calling me.

So peace to all and a quiet good night. amulbunny.
