Plodding along

The 2nd surgery went well and after 6 weeks in a cast, I am down to a brace. I wear a neoprene and metal brace to bed, and I wear a soft brace during the day time.  3 days post op I had a doctor's visit and they took off the temp protection, and I had an infection. 10 days of Keflex.

The cast was clumsy and I was so glad to get rid of it. I could have knocked someone out with it. Though there were times I thought about it, I didn't do it. 😝

Weather has been nice, high 60's. The rotten thing is the smoke from the Central CA fires. Makes breathing a bit hard.

We're dealing with rats. Not one or two, but a whole community that's in our attic and venturing around our kitchen. We've had conversations with our landlord, I've sent him info for exterminators,  but he's working on a popular TV show as crew and they are working them to to the bones. I'm advocating for holding rent until the critters are dead and removed. It's dangerous, unhealthy and scares me. We shall see.

Although it's fall (THANK GOODNESS) and my favorite season, I haven't done much in the way of decorating. Burning the candles though and the house smells great. I got a candle from Home Goods, Burnt Caramel and Pumpkin. Smells so nice.

I'll try to update more often. I'm in the middle of a project that takes time and has to be done by Thursday. I think I will get it done on Wednesday.

                                             Peace my friends.

What? Another surgery?

Seems that the thumb surgery I had in 2020 didn't work. The pin mysteriously fell out and the thumb is sinking. So July 31st I go back with a new doctor to get my thumb fixed. I am kind of scared, but I know that this will be  better in the long run. And he's going to fix my trigger finger. That is a must.

Husband is back to work after 4 months of workers comp. His wound is closed and he is not having any pain. I think he watched more stuff on Netflix than I ever had. And this weekend he binged The Umbrella Academy.  Thank goodness for 2 smart tvs and lots to see.

I'm getting my hair cut right before I have surgery because being one handed is a pain to deal with. And colored. I'm going purple!  I'm 68, I can do it. Something like this.

Things are ok otherwise. Trying to catch up on bills after 4 months of decreased income.

Life goes on, it's muggy and warm.

Not gone not yet

Will be coming back with a brand spanking new post as soon as I can carve out the time.

Husband was injured at work when a 500 lb safe he was working on tipped over and fell on him and his right thigh. He was transported to the same trauma unit that Tiger Woods went to, the next day actually. He was under observation and sent home 2 days later. 3 days later he was readmitted and he had to have surgery to remove a baseball sized hematoma. He's home with a wound you can drop a golf ball in. It's a story unfolding.

More to come . . . . . .

I'm not sure

I keep thinking about where God has been lately. It's like he's ignored our collective prayers and requests the last few years. Has he been trying us over the purifying fires in order for us to be ready for what is to come?

Last Wednesday we saw primarily white "American" terrorists who breached the doors of the US Capitol and were out for blood. 5 people died, scores were injured. Before they marched down to the Capitol, they were exhorted by the sitting President of the United States to reclaim the victory that he had lost. HE HAD LOST. He could not accept his loss and rallied his rabid followers with shouts of fake news, fake elections, election irregularities. A thing occurred to me, if these ballots had been proved to be irregular, then all the contests on those ballots would have to be voided. A point his 147 lackeys in the House forgot to mention. I find the behaviors of Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley to be lacking and they need to be at the very least censured and even better removed from their offices for encouraging and continuing the lies about the election of Joseph R. Biden.

That's it. I can't deal with this crap.

The pandemic here is sweeping and the state of CA has now approved the vaccine for anyone 65 or older. I contacted my medical group and they said they have not received the vaccine yet. Am I scared? You had better believe it.

I hope that peace will return to this country, the pandemic will end and we can return to going out to dinner, to visit people, to go into our churches to worship.
