1.  Weeks almost over

3.  Get over the fact that my daughter will be moving 1800 miles from me in May.

Well back to the dole. I hope the DPSS will think better of us and give us more than $15 a month. Especially since my meds went up and my disability went down. But since the congress in it's war against women and children and disabled on food stamps I bet we get zip.

I can't believe . . . that that asshole still hasn’t given us the 1099 so I can finish the taxes

I am hoping…  that even though NGC didn’t work, something else will.

Outside my window. . 60º and a little breezy at 1849.

I am thinking…  Boy I wish we had some rain and soon.

I am thankful for…  the wedding going off without a hitch.

From the learning rooms … The Maeve Chronicles. Book 4 to come.

I can't believe . . that we are on pins and needles again.

From the kitchen . . . Beef Stew and Biscuits.

I am wearing…  mid sleeved shirt, jeans and slippers.

I am creating . . . I made 3 bouquets for my BIL’s bride, attendant and flower girl this weekend.

      

I am going…   on a road trip in April.

I am reading . . . so much that I have to take a day or two off.  

I am hoping…  that the new job comes through.

I am hearing…  the dog snoring behind me.

Around the house. . . 2 dogs, Pandora, and beef stew smell.

One of my favorite things… Watching the planes take off from the 24’s while standing on the roof of the Ralph’s parking structure.

1.   Get the tax info organized

2.   Get Turbo Tax and the State edition.

I have to apologize for my belated return to the blogging world.

I've been really sick and haven't had much energy to come up with witty repartee.

I have to go to a wedding this weekend and I have serious doubts about it. ***

Pray for rain for all of California. We are in a really nasty drought. My plants will thank you.

I am flummoxed over the Super Bowl. I like both teams even if they aren't the Packers.

No mo' flu shots for me

Every year I get a flu shot and within days I am desperately sick. No change this year. I got the shot on Tuesday and Wed my throat was scratchy and Thursday I was getting miserable and I had to take my mom to the surgicenter to have an epidural. Friday I was bedridden as I was Saturday which was my 28 anniversary.

We ordered Italian in. I'm having it for leftovers today.

I have done absolutely no shopping. Tomorrow, I am praying to God, FSM, Thor and anyone else who wields powers in the heavens that I feel good enough to go out and get it done.

In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas and I'll be back healthy and happy before the New Year.

I can't believe . . that he got laid off and got another job so soon.

From the kitchen . . . Have no idea. Oven is still DOA>

I am creating . . . ideas for decorating this weekend.

      

I am going…   think about getting another cat.

I am reading . . . HP 7, and a couple of other free ones from Amazon on my Kindle.

I am hoping…  to go get another mouse, mine is acting up.

I am hearing…  the boy child coming home from work.

Around the house. . . . boy child and 2 dogs.

One of my favorite things… cold nights where you’re all bundled up with lots of covers.

. . . wearing my Hollywood Bowl sweatshirt and jeans and comfy fluffy slippers. It's 58º outside. Winter has shown it's scabby face to southern CA. It won't last, but it's a nice taste.

Where else do you stand in line at the CVS behind a woman in a heavy wool coat, long leggings, and Ugg boots; a guy in a tee shirt, dock shoes and cargo shorts, a kid in a big pink puffy jacket with a woolen cap on? Southern CA. Gotta love it.

I promise when the muscles stop hurting I'll get back to my regular blogging. But the trapezius isn't cooperating. Even with the compounding cream.

SNAP goes my brain…..

So in the last installment of my random thoughts, I left you, the wonderful readers who put up with me, (and jojo, I didn't drop my following BTW) with my news of an appointment with DPSS to see if we could get some food stamps, or SNAP as they call the little plastic card now.

I got there on time, but had to wait for 45 minutes in a room where I kid you not, my moms and I were the only white faces. I had my interview, provided my documentation and was told you'll hear from us next week.

And so I heard. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!! THANKS TO THE OVERWHELMING GOODNESS OF THE CONGRESS OF THESE UNITED STATES, MY HUSBAND AND I QUALIFIED FOR $15 A MONTH IN FOOD STAMPS. And I am over 60 and disabled. I didn't know whether or not to cry, scream, or laugh out loud. $15 buckeroos. Whoo Hoo, 99¢ Store here I come. Guess I'll stretch out that rice a roni and use the frozen thighs we got from Costco courtesy of someone who gave me some grocery money.

So like the subversive democratic anarchist that I was before I willingly led myself  into the federal system, I wrote letters. I wrote to the president of these here United States, my 2 senators, Ms Feinstein and Ms Boxer as well as my do nothing congressperson who's district I am in by 2 streets, Maxine Waters. 

So my lovelies, I will leave you with this thought. 

Vote those Republican sons of bitches out of Congress and the Senate in 2016. 

Yep, that's it.

OrthoVisc shots, second opinion appointments, and still waiting for unemployment money.

I've had a series of 2 shots, Thursday I get the last one. I've still had moderate pain and one thing I've noticed for sure is that my shoulder is snapping a lot.

The second opinion appointment, #3 in 10 years, will basically tell the agency the same thing the other 2 did. I have not overcome my disability. Sure if I could find a job where I sat for a while and typed I'd be ok for 2 hours. Then I'd have to get up and ice the shoulder. Yes even after all this time I still maintain a relationship with my ice pack and heating pad.

Unemployment. I'm kind of ticked because he hasn't really done a lot of searching. I admit with one car, 2 kids living at home and working, it gets to be a challenge. But sitting on the couch watching hours of ancient aliens isn't going to kick it with me. And the amount is much less than before. We are hurting. Big time hurting.

I have an appointment at DPSS on Friday to see if we can get some foodstamps. They of course will be cut on the 1st by the party that represents the rich. But if we could get $100 a month, that would help immensely. Sadness if not.

Not much happy stuff today. Wishing I was somewhere peaceful with a Kindle loaded up with books and a chaise with a view of color turning trees surrounding a northern lake.

Friday my husband came home and told me he was laid off. He hadn't been at this company a year but since the government shut down their work has dried up. Boss couldn't keep 8 guys working. 4 had to go. Last on, first off. He's looking into careers elsewhere.

This puts us in a bind. He's re-upped his unemployment application. I'm applying for food stamps, and I've begged a forbearance on my student loans. I get a non taxable amount every month. I'm going to have to stretch it and get my children to help with the bills. Can we say depressed.

We're only one family out of how many thousands that are affected by this standoff between the ignominious leaders of the Republican party who are doing their damnedest to ruin the middle class. I am so upset that it's affecting me physically.

I need a stress free environment. Ain't gonna happen.

I am going…   to miss Squeaks more and more. I still feel her around me.

I am reading . . . just finished: “Flight for Control” by Karen Pettit. Don’t read this while flying!

I am hoping…  the spouse will pick up the son.

I am hearing…  my weather alert going off.
