I need this today

Psalm 91

Assurance of God’s Protection

You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
   and from the deadly pestilence;
he will cover you with his pinions,
   and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
   the Most High your dwelling-place,
no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
With long life I will satisfy them,
   and show them my salvation.

Darn isn't strong enough.... DAMN IT ALL

Some blankety blank so and so crashed one of my google accounts and tried to send out email. Luckily Google noticed and I had to change my password. Do you know what a pita that is when you have 2 different email clients? Argh. But on the good side, it won't happen again.

We had another night of rain and now the wind is blowing. There is a wind advisory up and it's not kidding. I can hear the trees against the motor home. We're going to have to find a place to store the Golden Rabbit.  There is no place at the new house to put her. Hopefully we can find a place that's not too far away and has good security. Where I wanted to store her is all filled up. Drat. Dagnabbit. Darn.

Got some more packing done yesterday. My desk is about 90% taken care of. I just have to do the shelves and then some minor cleanup. I ran the shredder so much yesterday and it overheated and I had to wait an hour for it to cool down. So my recycling is full of shredder paper. If I was evil, I'd open the bags and let it go all over the other recyclables so people would stop rummaging through my trash when it's at the curb. Or this would happen!

I dont' begrudge people their right to rummage, but don't come up on my driveway to do it. Pretty soon we'll have the lovely little baskets I think, I don't know. Heck I don't know where the power meter is, the gas line hookin or anything at the new house. I'm just flummoxed aren't I?

I have a major headache coming on. It's a combination of the pollen, the stress and the just all around crap I have to put up with:

1. Just because I am the mom, don't call me to give messages to your son. If you have something to say, say it to him, I am not a messenger service.

2. FTB took our tax return and gave 3/4 of it to the IRS,which is ok, but then they took all the rest for the car reg. which they had also sent out a notice to withhold to the co the spousal unit works for. I had to call the FTB to get a copy of the withdrawal which they said was faxed to payroll on 4/27. Why then did 25% of the check get taken on May 12th? So I faxed the copy to payroll myself and I hope this time they fix it. We need the money gang! It was a chunk.

3. Dearest Daughter. You are a good kid. But you take over my living room and I don't like being relegated to the office to watch stuff on the tube with your dad. I love him dearly, but he drives me nuts sometimes.

4. Dearest Husband. I hate FRANK ZAPPA. Please don't play his cd's when you are already watching TV at top volume. Drives me nuts.

Later all. Time for a nap.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… Big blustery clouds, gusty winds, and rain coming (so says my knee)

I am thinking… how grateful I am for a husband who helps with packing.

I am thankful for…light in the distance.

From the learning rooms…a new book on medieval women of faith.

I can't believe ...  no one has come forward with the id of the guys who beat Brian Stow. Cowards all of them.

From the kitchen… Spanish Rice with fresh guacamole

I am wearing… grey sweatpants, a pirate mickey tee shirt and sleeveless tank under it.

I am creating…a safe place.

I am going…to make some tomato bisque for lunch.

I am reading… too many things to count!

I am hoping… that I can get through to the State to get back our $$$.

I am hearing…Channel 5 news, dog snoring.

Around the house… Boxes, bins, bags, and a sense of accomplishment and an empty entertainment center.

One of my favorite things…happiness.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
1. Packing and sorting.
2. More packing and sorting and going to drop the bags at thrift stores.
3. More praying and meditation.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing…

The magnificence of creation

Taking the day off

This is a pretty good picture of how I feel. Even though I'm sleeping better I guess the stress of this move is getting to me. Soon it will be over and I can sit in the hot tub, sip a glass of wine and listen to 70's music and relax. That is my goal.

I got some doggie downers. Actually after reading the ingredients I think I could give him a cup of beer and he would settle down. He's got way too much anxiety these days. Of course it could mean we're going to have an earthquake. He'll get another one in a couple of hours. I am done going out for the rest of the day so I can relax now.

This is what I need. A long massage over my neck, shoulders and back. Mainly the neck and shoulders. Just to get some feeling back into the nerves. It hurts to hold up my head. I know I have a bulging disc in my neck and I think it's just getting worse with age. I put the Icy Hot on it and pray.

OK here is the Saturday ITunes Shuffle:

1.  If I Should Fall From Grace From God          The Pogues
2.  Big Rock Candy Mountain                               Harry McClintock
3.  Out on the Weekend                                          Neil Young
4.  The Tide is High                                                 Blondie
5.  Magpie to the Morning                                      Neko Case
6.  California                                                            Joni Mitchell
7.  Cecelia                                                                 Simon and Garfunkel
8.  Dead Man's Party                                              Oingo Boingo
9.  The Power is On!                                               The Go Team
10. Koop Island Blues                                        Koop featuring Ane Brun

Blessings to all and a restful night.

Things sure have changed....

Do you remember when MTV actually played music 24/7? And VH-1 played the 70's music since it was set up for oldies? I remember when the Music For Nothing video debuted on MTV. It was so cool to see a story with the music. And Billy Joel's Uptown Girl. Of course before cable I had an over the air payTV service called OnTV. I had an indoor antennae and a weird box to get the channels. But then there were only about 50 channels to choose from. How things have changed?

My family got their first color TV in 1969 so we could see the moon landing, but the moon is in shades of grey. Oxymoron.

I do love my Coca Cola. I even switched to Pepsi (gasp, choke, cough) when New Coke came out and they didn't serve Classic Coke anymore. I can drink Coke Zero if I find it with Splenda but I don't like other sweeteners. I get horrible migraines from Diet Coke. Learned my lesson well with that.

not

The kiddo and her dad went to see Thor last night. She's already seen it twice. I don't have any desire to see it. It'll be on cable soon enough. And heck ScyFy had a Thor knockoff already last weekend.

It's getting closer. I got the paperwork from the mover today. I have a NTE price and I think the estimate was fair and well done. It helps that I spent a good 6 1/2 years in a moving company and I know how it goes. We're pretty sure we can do what we have planned to do. Boxes and misc small stuff and electronics on the 1st while we have the movers do the appliances and heavy stuff on the 2nd. I am still conflicted if I want to come back here on the 3rd and clean because I think the bank will re carpet and paint the interior after we leave.

330,000.00
I checked the MLS listing last night because I wanted to verify something and  saw that they raised the price from 250K to 330K. No wonder no one has made an appointment to see it. There are so many better deals in the area at lower prices that raising it 80K is a death knell for the bank. I know the bank wants to recoup it's losses, I am sure that the house's mortgage is way over 450K because of the greed that hit. He only paid 180K for the house and then he re-fi'ed to remodel (taking out a tub to put in a large shower...not a hit for families with kids) and got greedy. When we first moved in the price of the house was 465K. For 1087 sq ft, 3 bedrooms 1 bath (3/4 actually) and a 12x12 room out back that's just that a room. Nice back yard, a spa that doesn't get hot. (Which we have to drain this weekend).

Hopefully some of this will all be a bad memory and things will improve once we have moved. I'm throwing out almost all my kitchen stuff and am starting new. I've got a wish list at a Corning site and I'm going to place the order for the new dishes next week. I am kind of excited about that.

So until the next time. Remember what the Divine Miss M says:
Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke!

Outside my window… Cool temps, lots of breeze and big bumpy clouds in the sky.

I am thinking… that I have a lot more handbags than I'll ever use. Goodwill watch out!

I am thankful for…having a great mother's day and a great husband to share it with.

From the learning rooms… ham salad is so easy to make and so good.

I can't believe ... that nowhere in the South Bay were any snuggies. A travesty!

From the kitchen… I'm craving fresh bagels and schmear.

I am wearing… comfy jeans, a sleeveless blouse and my cozy slippers.

I am creating…a sense of peace and goodwill.

I am going…to take a nap and get rid of my headache.

I am reading… too many things to count.

I am hoping…that this move goes well.

I am hearing…traffic noise, cat snoring, dog sighing.

Around the house… Boxes, bins, bags, and a sense of accomplishment.

One of my favorite things… Laughter

A few plans for the rest of the week…
1.Packing and sorting.
2. More packing and sorting and going to drop the bags at thrift stores.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing…

This is so peaceful.

That's what it is gang, for real, for sure.....

Well we're still packing. I think we'll be packing till the last bit. But I have hope and I think that I'll have my stuff like shoes and handbags done tomorrow. I'm not planning on changing handbags till after we move, especially since I just got 2 new Coach purses. I love Coach. I got this one:
which is a Chelsea for a gift from a good friend. I was going to buy it myself but I found a bag that I really wanted and the friend said, well hey, I didn't get you a Christmas present this year so here it is! So I got this one, which I also have in a soft light blue for myself:
It's called a Zoe. When I first bought the blue one they had a lemon yellow and a green one. I wish I had bought the yellow one, but I like this taupe one just as well.
Well a blogger that I've read and snarked about for awhile has flounced off again. There was a posting last week that their puppy was ill and she was treating it with chicken broth and soft food. Apparently the puppy had parvo and died. I've seen dogs die of parvo, it's not pretty. You take the dog to the vet and get it treated. It's the only way. I lost my best friend of a dog to gastric torsion. It was common to her breed and we thought that at age 8 she'd beat the odds. I was wrong. I have her ashes on the bookcase and talk to her every day. This blogger has an aversion to doctors. Her kids aren't vaccinated (I won't get into that pot because we had issues with vaccinations in the late 80's.)and she doesn't take them to well child visits,  so why would she take her dog to the vet?  And this past week she's been showing off her dresses. Honestly, she either gets them 2 sizes too big or she has no idea how awful she looks. She won't wear skirts and blouses because "it takes too much time to mix and match". Okay. Sad but true.
The trainwreck has up and relocated again. She was so sure Louisiana was the place for them, her boys and her new bed partner. They moved down there with 4 suitcases, a trunk and 4 backpacks. Into a furnished trailer that was not what it was supposed to be. She got into it with the landlord in the 1st week. I don't think they stayed an entire month before she dragged those little boys out of a place they were getting comfortable in and moved them via Greyhound, the week after the tornados hit the southeast from this tiny town (she found it on the internet and thought it was all white) near Shreveport back up to Lexington,KY where she liked it last year. So now they are living in a motel off of Ver-sai-lles road (not Versailles as my husband loved to tell me) and looking for a place to live. She has some money from her dad's estate, she sold his 2 houses in Michigan and there evidently are some more funds to come. She whines on one page, brags on another, and then tells the world what a sexy momma she is on another. Can we say schizophrenic. And even though she has 6 kids, 4 of whom were taken away from her for her bad parenting, she wants more kids. Wants to have her tubes untied. Then she talks about a semi serious heart condition, her kids are developmentally delayed and one is completely deaf in one ear and whines that the govt can't get her paperwork together fast enough. She moved twice in 3 months and is on govt assistance to boot. OMG, it's something new every day.

So well that's what it is.
To my Russian friends:
Оставьте меня в комментарии. Мне бы очень хотелось знать, как вы меня нашли.
  1. спасибо!

Guess what?

Panda Express doesn't taste nearly as good coming up as it does when you eat it. I thought it tasted odd but my son had the same thing and he didn't get sick. But whoa nellie, did I. I hate throwing up. Now that you are grossed out....

Packing is coming along. I'm on a new med at night to help me sleep. Tomorrow my baby turns 22. I feel totally wiped out.

And:
This is what Duffy wants to be when he grows up.
A NAVY SEAL DOG!

peace,love, tolerance for all.
G'Night peeps.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… Dry air, warm temps. Touched 90 today.

I am thinking… I like the old Stargate SG-1 team better than the one with Vala. Ugh.

I am thankful for…being able to get through some more boxes.

From the learning rooms… books are heavy.

From the kitchen… I haven't the slightest idea. Maybe Hamburger helper.

I am wearing… new denim shorts, a yellow tank top  and skechers flip flops.

I am creating… a wonderful place to go to in my mind.

I am going… to pick up my husband at the airport at 2315 tonight!

I am reading… lots of different things.

I am hoping…that I never hear from certain idiots again in this lifetime,

I am hearing…Stargate SG-1, cars outside and fans whirring.

Around the house… Boxes, bins, bags, and disorder.

One of my favorite things… frosting.

A few plans for the rest of the week…

1.Packing and sorting.
2. Going to the doctor.
3. More packing and sorting and going to drop the bags at thrift stores.

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing…

I'd love to have a good old fashioned thunderstorm with rain and lots of thunder.

02 May, 2011

Life and thoughts.

I emailed this to a friend:

Can you imagine the number of things we have experienced in our lifetime?
Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuban Missile Crisis
JFK, RFK, MLK's assassination.
Apollo 1, the Challenger, The Columbia accidents.
Man walking on the moon
9-11
and now the death of the great Satan.
All these things in our lifetimes.
It's time for some peace in our time.

We're going through bins. One thing I found was a copy of my grandparents marriage record:

18 Jan 1897, Albert Friedrich Ferdinand X married Anna Emilie Maria X. He is the son of Johann X and Wilhelmina X. She is the daughter of Albert X and Caroline XWitnesses were Franz Hannenman, Herman Kuhl, Emilie Nienow, and Anna Marth.

And of my Dad's baptismal record:

On 2 July1899 in Wausau, Franz August Emil X, born 7 May 1899, to Albert X and Anna geb X. Sponsors: Herman Marth, August Beltz, Emilie Nienow.

The spousal unit is on his way to Indianapolis. He'll call me when he gets there. Gonna be a long day for him. He'll be home tomorrow night.

Counting down till moving day. I am getting excited. We're getting things sorted slowly but it's a good sorting.

Peace and out.
