Birthdays...

I have nothing to say except it's my birthday.

I have been as sick as a sick dog for 3 weeks. I'm on my 2nd course of antibiotics. I am running a fever yet the X-ray shows no pneumonia. I am fucking miserable.

This is not fun.  I can't even read. I'm not happy.

Quick, quick, the engines on.....

1. G*O*T --- OMG Arya, you're gonna be a wild woman when you grow up.
Tryion, you try and try and still get to be like a mushroom.
                      Danys...... let dem dragons go!!!

2. T*B           Starts in June. Not enough time, only 10 eps, and the grand finale.

3. Roadtrip    If I have any sanity after 4000 miles of US highways, I'll be surprised.

4. Movies:     NO I don't want to see Captain America, Noah, or anything else right now.

5. Kindle       I do want to upgrade my Kindle and will tell my husband it comes in 4 easy payments

6. Rental Cars     It would cost us $600 to drop the rental car in MSP. That's more than the cost of 2 one way tickets home. So we have to drive it back to SoCal.

7. Taxes        This is the first time I did all our taxes and Efiled. My children love me and the IRS got it's money from us that much sooner.

8.  Jobs          Finally the husband found a job that is right.

9. Inventory   I still hate doing it.

10. Packing:   My kid is moving in 2 weeks and not a thing has been thrown out, donated or boxed to go.

11.  Mom's Chauffer   We need another car.

Why I love libraries. . . .

When I was a little girl, I used to run up ancient wooden stairs to a musty old library that was above our village hall. What wonders it held.
Stereo-optic viewers much older than the Viewmasters that languished in our toy box. But the pictures I beheld were of a time long past in our little corner of Wisconsin. Pictures of rough looking men holding huge hand saws felling trees that were more than 100 years old. Logs filling the ponds at the paper mill. People dressed in their finest to have photos taken of them for a special occasion.

The library was a place of refuge for me. Books took me on journeys that I never dreamed I would go on. Reading about the Champs Elysees and later going there in the winter time when the trees sparkled with tiny white lights.

It's where I discovered Dickens and Austen and books that were supposedly above my reading level.
Then one day we left our little town to come to Los Angeles.
I didn't go to a library except at school for research. Those days you searched through card files and wrote information down on paper and hoped that the book you needed was there. Once you got your information then you wrote it out in handwriting and hopefully you had a typewriter to type your paper. A manual one that didn't self correct. By the time college came, I had bought my own typewriter. An electric one from Sears that had correction tape.
I still read a lot but bought the books out of my salary as a sales clerk.

Now days nearly everything is available at your fingertips via the computer and e-reader.

 I love to read.

VISIT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY!
YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED.

Random and then some more…..

Well back to the dole. I hope the DPSS will think better of us and give us more than $15 a month. Especially since my meds went up and my disability went down. But since the congress in it's war against women and children and disabled on food stamps I bet we get zip.

Watched the end of True Detective. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Beginning of OUAT: wow, wow, wow.
