Outside my window61, raining

I am thinking No more procrastination

I am thankful for     The husband is feeling better

From the learning rooms …  Don’t know if I’m up to it

I can't believe . . .       Mom’s been gone nearly 2 months

From the kitchen . . . Chinese Chicken Salad with Cutie slices

I am wearing    Unusual Woman baseball shirt and jeans

I am creating . . Less than usual

I am going. . .  to watch the Weather Channel

I am reading. . . A Brief History of Time

I am hoping the dog’s foot is fixed

I am hearing Idiots gold panning and dredging in AK

Around the house1 dog, husband, son and girlfriend and me

One of my favorite things… Almond Poppyseed Costco Muffins

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.  Get paperwork in gear
2.  Meet with Mom’s banker
3.  Enjoy the rain

Since the last episode of this life book this has happened:

My mom fell and went into rehab. They messed up her meds and caused her to have an ulcer. She went back into the hospital. She had 2 abdominal abscessed, her kidneys stopped working, and she declined to death. RIP Momma 12/1924-2/2018

My little Duffy developed kidney failure after a stroke and died. I miss him a lot.

My husband spent 4 days in the hospital with AFIB and is now off 8 weeks to see cardiologists and diabetes specialists as well as the anti-coagulation clinic.

I am not dealing. Selling the house, disposing of possessions, dealing with greedy non-relatives. Getting the estate settled.

Friday shuffle and a quick memory

I was born to an older dad. He had one previous marriage and had a son who was born a year before my mom. This son, who was a POW in WW2, always treated my brother and I like his little brother and sister. He was married and had 1 child when my folks got married. When my mom was pregnant with me his wife was pregnant with their 2nd child. He is 6 weeks older than I am. My half brother died 3 years after my dad died. His wife had to raise their pre teen son alone as their daughter was married and living on air force bases. From what I can recall, his son loved his Mom.

Then the son got married and as with some families, there was an estrangement. The son stopped seeing his Mom and his wife was not interested in letting her see their kids. So my niece who by this time had settled close to her mom, was the closest family that cared. But their grandmother was said to have put a tidy sum away for each grandchild. Whether or not that is the case, if it is so, I wonder what the son will think.I was chastised by his wife for telling the kids as "they never had a relationship with their grandmother". Still family is family and they lived 6 miles apart and never spoke. Now his Mom is dead. I told his wife via message that I send my sympathy to him, because no matter what else, she was his Mom and she did the best she could. I think personally that his wife wanted him to put her family first in everything, to hell with his.  RIP Mary. I hope the fish are biting in heaven.

Now on to happier times:

Too much sadness

1934-2011

Good bye to my mother in law Patricia Davis of Nederland Tx. She had a massive stroke and was left dependent on a vent. The vent will be removed tomorrow and she will be totally gone. Her soul and spirit left her body when the artery blew in her brain.
She is survived by:
Her sons Richard, Sean, and Kent
Her daughters Jerri and Beki
 numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
