Wow, It's been a while....

So it's been over a month since I jotted anything down on here. I've been on Facebook a lot and it seems to take over your life....hahahaha.
So let's get on with an update:

1. I broke my foot before I had my shoulder surgery. I fell in the garage and really messed up my left foot. Now the swelling has gone down, I am pretty sure I mangled the right one as well.

The hard part is that I can't use crutches since I have had shoulder surgery this week. So we will have to wait and see what goes as far as the foot. In the meantime I have a lovely passive motion machine that I use to raise and lower my arm. The shoulder pain is manageable with meds. Again better living through chemistry

We've been having a swarm of earthquakes. They've been centered basically under this area. The first one was a 4.7 and I was in the back house talking to my son. I grabbed onto a pine tree and ended up covered in pitch. It was pretty scary. Had a few good aftershocks. Seems like there are a few happening all over. Today Guatemala City and Mexico City. They are pretty scary. I always get seasick when they hit.

It's Memorial Day weekend but it will just be a normal weekend for us. Might grill some steaks on Sunday. Remembering the sacrifices made for us to enjoy freedom. Today and every day.

Not much else to say. I am continuing with rehab, start PT this coming week. Peace and out.

Okay Okay I need to be here......

The Villanova- NC game is on and I am sort of watching it. I only get into Basketball at the time of the final 4. Otherwise it is just guys running up and down and trying to get baskets.

So in the meantime I have been busy getting my green thumbs back in the game. My mom gave me a topsy turvy tomato planter and I have 2 hanging off my patio supports. One already has blossoms and in a month we will have fresh maters to eat!

I also decided to stop getting dive bombed by the hummingbirds by hanging a feeder near the jasmine, and hopefully they will come to visit. It would be nice to sit here by the French doors and see them drinking their little red juice.

I had an MR-A a couple of weeks ago and now have a pre op appointment set up with the doctor for the 27th. My surgery is going to be the 14th of May. I fell asleep in the MR-A and had to have some redone. Just zoned out. I even have a cd of my shoulder to look at and say gee what a mess.

Still having a lot of pain, so I am still taking pain pills and muscle relaxers. Unless you have acute chronic shoulder pain you take things for granted, like stirring sauces, slicing potatoes and onions, reaching into a cupboard, watering your plants. If there was a way to take an functional MRI and make it portable and do it like a 24 hour holter to see the way it behaves, there would be a lot of acceptable images showing red areas of pain. So I take the pills, don't drive if I don't have to and pray that all goes well on the 14th.

My kids took me to Disneyland. They rented a wheelchair which made it a lot easier for me to get around. Don't forget that along with the shoulder I have a very nasty back. I even have a permanent disabled card for the car. I may go and get license plates since they are free. We got on most everything we wanted to see. They made sure I got my butt massaged at It's A Bugs Life, and my free tortilla at Mission Tortilla. I soared over California and saw the California Adventure vineyard. Then to Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and of course sitting along the riverbank to see Fantasmic. It was pretty neat. We enjoyed it. And last Saturday when they picked me up from my friends house after her FIL's memorial service and wake, we drove down Harbor Blvd and saw the fireworks show. It was awesome.

I haven't had a lot of energy to write much. I hate to whine but this always seemed a safe place to do it. I don't care if the agency I work for monitors it, they are so full of venom and hate that I pray the new leadership in DC will clean house. I want to retire from this place and just walk away. It was their mismanagement that caused me to have this injury. And the medical issues that have been dismissed even with medical proof. Not to mention the Boy Wonder who basically threw me out to the wolves. There is a place in the afterlife somewhere for people like that.

So I am done for tonight. My tummy has pizza and Kosher Coke in it and the UNC Tarheels beat Villanova.

Peace and out.

Still here

I haven't forgotten this blog, I just don't have much to say.
Am having an MRA next week. Then waiting to see Doctor and find out what is going on with the shoulder and schedule surgery.
All else is copacetic. Tired of kids in/out of the back house.
Planted a tomato topsy turvy. Seems to be okay.

later.

Wind, rain and a new laptop

My beloved Emac gave up the ghost quite soon after Christmas..It wasn't ready for new technology. So I scrimped up some retirement $ and got myself a new white Macbook. I love it. It is fast though it even has a 13 inch screen. But it's a good investment.

Wind has died down for a little and the rain has eased off. I lit a fire, turned off the heater and will let the fireplace do it's thing. Supposed to be a nice weekend. We need the rain and we need the snowpack. Drought and a bankrupt state. What more do you want from California? Sun and sand and movie stars?

I got roses and a card for VDay. That was nice. I love roses and tulips. I have some tulip bulbs that I am going to plant when the rain eases up.

Waiting on the agency to get the doctor thing done. They are paying me for the TTD time which we need, but for some reason they haven't approved the new doctor; which is stupid because the old doctor said goodbye and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Well it's time to go. Life is flying by.

Still here

Doing okay.
On meds.
Dog loves me. Keeps me sane.
Weather is hot.
I am waiting for the money to get here. But a watched mailbox never provides happiness.
Life is interesting.
Later alligator.

There's moisture falling down

It's raining and that is good news. No having to water plants and mow lawns this weekend.

Listened to the Illinois governor and his wacko news conference. Well what do you expect from the state that gave us Bozo? I hope they throw the book at him and get him the hell out.

Arm still hurts but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Not working is relaxing, I am not stressed. At least not stressed over work but stressed over things at home. I am waiting for a check to come from my teachers retirement, I have to get a new computer. I have killed my 6 year old Mac. So I am going to get an Apple laptop. It's time. I know I could spend the money on other things but I am going to pay off bills too, and get those off the table. I already am scrimping and saving everything I can. But I would love to have a long relaxing bath and a massage to relax those muscles. Well maybe it will happen too. I have a brochure from a cool spa. I may spend the money myself.

Another exciting day.Have a good weekend.

okay okay okay

It's been pretty warm here. Actually fricking hot. But hey, global warming and all that are proven even if the outgoing administration doesn't believe in it. The dog loves to lay out in the back on the warm concrete and the cat sits on the steps of the jacuzzi.

Some how I have managed to disable my Emac. I got an external hard drive for Christmas and when I tried to do what I was supposed to do, it did something weird. I guess when I get some extra money I'll take it to the shop and have it fixed. I am going to get some extra money from my retirement (there goes another tax problem) and I am getting a laptop for me, pay some bills off, and put some money away for emergencies. I can't get into any of my applications. Somedays I am just baffled by my stupidity.

US Airways had a water landing in the Hudson River. CNN is covering it. At least they seem to have evacuated the passengers and the plane is still floating but it looks like it is slowly sinking. I hope Dave isn't the pilot.
Thank God they made a safe landing and everyone is safe.

Time to move from this uncomfortable chair and computer and read a little. Oh, I thought Grishams book The Appeal sucked. JMHO. I loved The Shack. Now I am going to find some mindless Harlequin book. The kid got a motherload when a used book store went out of business.

See ya.

what a clusterfuck

1. I see the new ortho! Yeah.
2. I get 6 weeks off and surgery to come.
3. I get a nice monkey written note to take to work.
4. I go to hr without an appt and the person who handles my file is gone. No matter she doesn't answer email or phone calls.
5. The head witch says that my doctor's note is not MEDICALLY ACCEPTABLE.
6. I call the dr's office and they are incredulous but they write a new note and fax it.
7. I get a copy from the admin office faxed to me.
8. I get threatened by the terminal manager that they will AWOL me if I don't give them the note and make sure it's medically acceptable. I push back and email her with a copy of the pdf note attached.
9. They are harassing me and I am really tired of it. It's time to get an attorney and start putting pressure.
10. I emailed the ombudsman and complained of harassment. The person who handles eeoc is also the person who told me my note from the doctor was not acceptable.
Chicken in the henhouse?
11. Still don't know if I have to bring in the paperwork in person which won't be a problem since my kid works across the street.
12. Don't harass me and I won't back up and get my fangs out. I am tired of being told I am worth nothing and don't mean anything to the agency. Time to retire.

later peoples!

Happy New Year

Finally have an appt with a new ortho------YIPPEE!!!!

Work still makes up their own rules and breaks them left and right.

Just read a wonderful book, The Shack. Recommend it highly.

December was pretty stressful. Hopefully 2009 will be better. Yes.

Miss my kiddo. She comes home from the frozen north on the 13th.

Peace and out!

I'm still here

Been sick again, arm is in constant spasm and the flu visited me with aches, aches, headaches and just wonder why the flu shot didn't work. Of course the money thing sucks too.

Back to the house. The kids bought a tree and the dad set it up. It's nice. I wanted a live tree and they got a cut tree. But mom it's live, I said where is it connected to dirt? They bad. But they did okay.

Got through 2 funerals in 5 days. Well death is a part of life isn't it? The first one was the hardest. The second one was completely planned out. The Pastor said he thought if she could have she would have written her own homily. I will miss them both. But I hope that Selma found her perfect kitchen in heaven.

Can't say much more.

I am not sure

I can't do much more than wilt away on this one.
God gained 2 angels today. One was waiting joyously to meet her Saviour, the other was taken away in an instant by a driver who was not paying attention.
When I can think I will write more.

Cool!

24 November, 2008

The store was busy

There's a 13 pound tom turkey languishing in my fridge. Had to rearrange some things but it's there. The giblets and gizzards have just come to a boil and they will cook until they are done. Then I will fry the livers with some onion and put them all in a bag to cool. Wednesday night I will put them in the food processor and chop them up.Thursday morning I will mix them with the cooked celery and onion and add them to the stuffing with my organic chicken broth and make the stuffing. There's never enough stuffing and I like it the next day with turkey gravy.

I am home today because my 19 year old daughter lost a friend. He left a 4 page note and he shot himself away from home. He was only 19. Another friend who was on a police ride along happened to be with the officers when they went to the kids house to take a missing persons report, while they were there the coroners office called and asked them if they had a son, and then asked them to come down and ID the body. How awful. Now these kids who knew him are walking around like zombies wondering how and why didn't he ask for help. It's the most selfish thing a person can do.

Have most of the shopping done for Thanksgiving and on Wednesday will have kid#1 take me out so I can finish. I need some Chambord liqueur to use with my trifle. I am making a cranberry trifle and I will pour the chambord over the pound cake, then the cranberries, then the whipped cream and then repeat till the bowl is full. Put it in the fridge and keep it cool. It will be yummy, I will cook my cranberries with a bit of pie spice that always adds to it.

I am getting a little tired now, just took my pills, I can function at a certain level. My mom says I was mumbling this morning. Most likely. After I take the Klonopin I feel okay but a little spacey. If I take the Norco on an empty stomach you might as well get the rubber room ready. But it helps the arm and that is good. When I was at the store and passed the display where they have the cooked chickens and ribs ready to go, I said I could just stand under this light forever it felt so good and warm.

On the medical side:
1. I have to send a form to the Federal Security Director of the TSA at LAX for permission to wear my jacket at the exit. ( what pfiffle is this?)
2. I have called my claims examiner two times in the last 5 days asking about the approval for the new doctor. What have I got? No calls no letter.
3. So my shoulder is miserable, my back is crunching as we speak and life goes on.
At least God loves me and I cling to that knowledge, that no matter what happens in life, he is there for me, holding me, supporting me, and loving me.

so that's it for now. more after the feast. guess i'd better get some pumpkin pies.

Fires Fires Fires

It's hard to explain what it's like to see the fires all around in the hills and sit down here in the flats and pray for your friends and coworkers who may have lost their homes. There is a fire close to here, 15 miles away. I called a friend but he hasn't called back.

Have another 3 days off thanks to the back going bad, yesterday I had a Toradol shot and a flu shot. I am going to get the ice pack out and use it. Thank God I can use the FMLA and not get dinged for the absence. Of course this is the same agency that denied my doctor's request to wear a jacket at the exit. Gotta wonder don't you?

Now they are asking reporters to leave a mobile home park that reporters have used as a staging area in Sylmar. It's a crime scene. If someone set this fire I have no sympathy for them. Let them suffer.

Husband has gone to the other side of the mts to go gold prospecting. The active fire is about 45 miles from where he is. I can't get ahold of him and he didn't take his phone charger with him. Going to be anxiety for a while.

Monday I get to bid for a new shift. We shall see. All I can do is sit at an exit so what difference is it? People who work shifts are pissy that light duty can bid. They've taken everything else away from us, so this is one way to keep our dignity. Because there is none left. This is one thing that a great many people don't care about===

I'll keep posting on the new medical degree of the primary terminal manager who has denied my doctor's request for me to wear a jacket at night. If it causes back spasms and makes my shoulder spasm too we'll start talking greivance.

Bye from the bunny.........
