Punishment and Sadness

For eight hours a day I sit in a broken chair and watch people. I get 2 15 minute breaks and 1 30 minute break. I don't get to interact with people other than give some directions and hopefully have a short conversation with the person at the other exit station, who gets to rotate every 30 minutes. And don't dare to ask for something else, even though they have copies of your doctor's notes, they can't remember that you can't stand for more than 10 minutes, not to bother remembering that you've a FMLA for severe back problems and a work comp case for a damaged shoulder.


I would be perfectly happy in front of a keyboard and doing perfectly inane things but the gods that run the agency or at least this airport say sorry you aren't a perfect employee ( but i did pass my proficiency check so what does that mean?) so you stay where you are seated.



And on top of everything else it makes me sad. I would just like to have something to be useful to do.

Welllllllll

Saw the pain management doctor. He wants me to have an MRI of my neck. Thinks that the steroids and the epidurals have escalated the damage to the Cspine and that's why my remaining biceps muscle is so bad. Also he said that there is a marked difference in the temperature of the right arm from the shoulder down to the elbow than the left arm. I don't notice. I'm usually having to fan myself from all the heat in my corner of the world. Which with the HR/WC dept blessing I am out of till my follow up. We are starting new meds tonight. See if I fall asleep.






Still tweaking the hot tub so we get warm water in it. It's the pump timer that we need to work with so it circulates the hot water from the hoses 0n the patio roof (black hose) into the spa all day long. When we get home, then it's nice and comfy and you don't feel like a polar bear swimmer.

New uniforms roll out this week. I will miss that since I am off duty on the 11th. But I won't be sad to say g'day to the old ones. I need to wash all my new ones and get them hung up. They are rolling out on 9-11 which people want to have as a holiday called Patriot Day. Why don't we have a holiday on December 7th and call it Pearl Harbor Day, or on June 6th and honor D Day? Or VJ and VE days? We already have Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Let's use them to honor the people that have perished.




Well I am out of opinions for right now. Have too many aches and I didn't take the usual meds because I thought my new ones would be here by now. Kids went out shopping this morning, but I told them their dad would go get them. He took #1 to work and now is at Harbor Freight, he will get them on the way home. I am going to take a Vicodin and see if it stops some of the pain.



Off to the mystical world of England at the time of the French Revolution! and I ordered 2, yes count them 2 NEW books from Amazon. Can hardly contain myself. Maybe they will be here while I am off and I can read them!

Ah joy

Actually had a nice weekend. Went to church and yesterday I did a tritip and it turned out amazing. Everyone enjoyed it. Cooked it for an hour at 425º and then let it sit covered for 20 minutes. Sliced it up and made fresh guac, chopped maters, a new chipoltle salsa, and had quesadillas with frijoles and cheese. We actually had a family meal and spent it watching Deadliest Catch.

I really enjoy that show, and now that Bones and House are off, it's okay with me.

Tomorrow I get to see the ortho and get my Maximum Medical Improvement exam. Whopee. I am also going to talk to him about the fact that things weren't done on time causing me 4 months of pay, getting evicted and now finding out that my husband's contract ends Friday. I am not going to let myself freak out. He's been contacted by some other companies but who knows how long that will last. We don't have money for a first and last and houses are hard to find. If I had money I'd get a lawyer and sue the bastard for not doing the paperwork in a timely manner and causing me all this distress.

Unplanned day off

So I have to take some of my stored hours and take the oldest kid to the doctor. Joy. At least I have them to use.
The kid smashed his fingers this morning so I get to go to the doctor with him.

HE can't tell them he did it at work because they don't accept workers compensation claims at the medical group any longer. Probably lack of funding from the insurers. Thank God I was able to have it there when I got hurt. Lord only knows what kind of mess I would have had to endure had I seen the company doctors....wait, I've already had to endure a mess. What's the difference?

Big news.

The kid who went to Disneyland got stuck on the ride. IT stopped on a curve for her. They were evacuated out. What fun. So she has a story to tell. They were given fast passes to use at the park in lieu of riding the Matterhorn. Lucked out. They will use it on Space Mountain.

I am going to treat myself to 2 new books today. I need something new to read instead of thrice read Nora Roberts bodice rippers. Borders, here I come!

Flights have been full this week. Lots and lots of people coming off of them and moaning about the long walk from the gate to baggage claim. Why doesn't this airport have moving sidewalks? Good question, it certainly would make a difference. Why doesn't this airport have a single entry point and have all the terminals interconnected? The planners didn't anticipate the need for stringent security measures and each terminal has a different layout, ownership and needs. Why are the terminals so shoddy. NO major rehabs in over 20 years. TBIT was build in 1984 and is just now getting some needed work. OF course adding more airplanes to the mix makes it just that much more crowded. Wait till Qantas flies the A380 into here. Want to see a mess????? Betcha there will be gate checks then and people will be royally pissed off.

The wind is picking up and there are a lot more clouds in the sky. Fun. Wonder if any of that wet stuff will fall from the sky?

Nuff said for now. Need to get showered and ready to go to the docs!
