This is from Space.
This is an out of control fire, 40 miles from where we live.
We are in no danger, but over 300 homes have been eaten by this monster, 2 deaths for sure.
This fire was not in the forests, it was primarily in scrub brush which is like tinder. Embers flew through the air to neighborhoods miles away from the actual burn to set fires to homes and neighborhoods.
Up north, the town of Paradise has been obliterated from the face of the earth. 42 people have lost their lives in the face of this fire.
This is not because of mismanagement of the forests.
This is because of drought, dried fuel, and the earth's messed up temperatures.
This summer was the hottest in record.
We've had very little rain.
Ocean temperatures are warming.
I have been following this disaster n the news. My heart goes out to all those people who have lost not just the material goods but all the memories that were part of their homes.
ReplyDeleteIt's been devastating. This and the fire up north are 2 of the worst fires in history. We're in the midst of a dreadful drought and it's sad. Another flareup this morning was jumped on by the air support and handled quickly. We're not in the path of the winds but where they are it's frightening.
