Weather or Not?

Monday it was 55 degrees and pouring rain. Today it was sunny and clear and it was 80 here by the coast.

Now when I say by the coast, I am saying go about 3.5 miles west down the street at the intersection you will most likely run into the Pacific Ocean. I used to live in a beach community 9 streets up from the beach. Here it's a little further east. We get the afternoon cooling, the breeze and fog from the coast. I like where I live. Of course the property could be spruced up a bit, the owner could mow the lawn, cut back the plants that are over growing the walks. I go out and cut back the bougainvillea so the succulent plants can breath and grow. I have to wear gloves when I do that, as the stickers are sharp and nasty. Our side yard is a disaster, looks like a junk yard still. The owner told my spousal unit today that he'd get to it soon. I am not holding my breath.

Ours don't bloom. They are dirty and ugly.

I'd like to get some bare root roses now and get them in some planters, but there's too much crap where I want to put them. Once the stuff is gone, I'm getting a few and I will take good care of them. I am tending a little Christmas tree. It's growing and it's in the sunlight so it's a happy little guy or gal. Do trees have genders?

When we moved in here, the front gate, was totally awful. You had to shove it to get in. Mainly lack of attention to it. Between the spousal unit and the son, in 1 hour it had a door knob and a latch and was working well. No more having to throw yourself at it to get in the yard. It has a horrible sign on it and I think I'm going to go to a hardware store and get something different.

Time to go take the big stuff out of the crockpot, put in some cornstarch mixed with water, thicken, add big stuff back in and serve over white rice with just a touch of vinegar in it.

Today when I woke up and crawled out of my cocoon it was 42 outside. Inside the house it was 58. Cold and then some, bare feet and a tile floor. Brrrr. Turned the thermostat up to 70 and it took 4 hours to be comfortable. We have a heater in the bathroom and that made getting out of the shower pleasant.

I was looking at some pictures of my children today. How small they were and how happy they look.And short. Now my son towers over me and my daughter is taller than I am too. There is one of them with my Mom and the kids are in their footed pajamas and look so adorable. Guess we did that right. Bet they wouldn't have been cold this morning.

I've been listening to a lot of traditional blues music. The blues range from "O poor me" to "Let's party on". Then there is bluegrass, the banjo stylings of Earl Scruggs. The flying fingers across the bed of the banjo. Makes me smile. Thank goodness for Pandora.

So it's time to take my massive pill and go crawl into my cocoon and read some more.

Wow we got invited to a 60th birthday party today.

It seems odd that most of us are creeping to that age with more agility than our parents did.

I'm close enough to feel the ice starting to close around me age wise. But if 40 was tolerable, 50 was decent , I hope that 60 will be wild.

Wednesday, wonders why?

I have a younger brother. He's now in his mid 50's. He's married, has a son, a lovely wife, and lives in the midwest. We used to be friends. Now he barely tolerates me and treats me poorly. I do not know why he treats me like this, I've asked his wife and she says she doesn't know. So.

I am on FB. No biggie. I wrote in my FB yesterday about my frustration with one of my Mom's doctors. I think he's in it for the money, doing expensive procedures and not listening to their worries and their symptoms. So I get a text message from my brother telling me not to post this crap on FB. Hmmm.

He is not a friend on FB.
He refused to add me.
I called my Mom and asked her if she was bothered by it.
She was not.
I texted him back and told him she was cool, and I actually had friends who were concerned about people and prayed for them.
No reply.

You have to wonder what has caused his heart to turn so against me? I am here with my Mom. I live 5 minutes from her. I am available to take her places, go to dr's appts, take her to urgent care, follow the ambulance to the ER, make sure she is comfortable, my kids are here to help her. My daughter spends every Sunday night at my Moms. My son takes her places and does things for her. Is my brother jealous? I stayed in the area and have said that I will continue to stay here till things change. Would we like to move out of state to a better job? Yes. Will we? I doubt it.

On to other things. Football playoffs.

I don't like the Broncos, specifically I don't like Tim Tebow. I am reminded of this whenever the camera focuses on young Tim praying:

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

I think young Tim might have a rough time against Tom Terrific and the Patriots this weekend.
Hopefully the Packers will smack down the Giants and get ready for the league playoffs.

Update on the trigger finger:
No improvement. I have a split to wear. Will see the doctor some day.

I'm having a bit of trouble typing with ye olde trigger finger, hopefully after the 15th I will get a referral to an ortho who can fix it....hope springs eternal you know.

I'm really enjoying my Kindle. It's such a blessing. I have started Anna Karenina with a book club. It's kind of dry. Tsarist Russian fiction such as it is. The Romanovs were interesting without any fiction but I will persevere and read it.

Feeling a little unwell.
Like something is brewing that needs just one more time being sneezed at to come to the surface. One thing with immunosuppressants is that you should avoid crowds. Going to Costco might be that. My goodness it was crazy daisy there today.

My hair is falling out

Every time I wash it or brush it it's coming out. Not in huge amounts but enough that i could be worried.
I had a few little hives this week too. Not a good thing. Stress is just piling back up on me. I'm worried about my Mom, she's got a bug and she's puking. Have to force her to drink powerade. I asked my niece to go and get some for her since I'm feeling massively under the weather.

This is not the way to start the new year.

Trigger finger is painful y'all.

In trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis (stuh-NO-sing ten-o-sin-o-VIE-tis), one of your fingers or your thumb gets stuck in a bent position and then straightens with a snap — like a trigger being pulled and released. If trigger finger is severe, your finger may become locked in a bent position.

Often painful, trigger finger is caused by a narrowing of the sheath that surrounds the tendon in the affected finger. People whose work or hobbies require repetitive gripping actions are more susceptible. Trigger finger is also more common in women and in anyone with diabetes.

Treatment of trigger finger varies depending on the severity.

Yep. That's what I've got. On my right ring finger. And it hurts.Like a mofo if you really want to know. If I leave it bent, it's not too bad but if I don't, I have to manually move my finger straight. I can feel the bump at the bottom of the finger too. I had it once before in my index finger, but it wasn't painful and I had a painful steroid injection and that cured it.

But thanks to the wisdom and idiocy of the agency that controls my compensation, I don't have insurance till the 15th. 14 days of pain to suffer through. 14 days of no pain meds to help (can't take NSAIDs because of my immunosuppressant) and all this because some lackey hit the wrong buttons. I called these idiots and no call back, I've written them, and gotten no response. I asked them if they were going to pay for my meds, my visits, and god forbid my hospital bills if something happened?

The Rose Bowl is on. Good game so far. I think I'll go out and read my Kindle and keep an eye on the game.

Wow. 2012. :: shakes head in wonder ::

Very low key last night. Drank some wine, watched NCIS reruns, ate pizza and really didn't do anything strenuous. No excessive drinking no merry making. Just wishing every one a happy new year.

Today was football. Picked up a little. Tomorrow is trash day but the tree isn't down yet. Next week I guess.

I'm tired, need to eat something substantial and then I'm back to reading the second book in the Hunger Game series. Wow, what a book. Thank goodness for my Kindle. I loves my Kindle.

My daughter is having a party tonight. Everyone is over 21 and there will be drinking. There will also be keys collected and no one leaves if they have been drinking. It's the way of the game or else there is no game.

I read another blogger who is again ranting and raving about the evil Catholics, Lutherans and Episcopalians. She said we "worship" the Queen of Heaven, Mary. I told her to give me a theological citation from a respected source that says that about Lutherans. In my almost 60 years I've never ever had a pastor or teacher refer to Mary as such. In Catholic services sure, but not in Lutheran settings.

She brings up all these obscure anti Catholic screeds and I again told her, show me in a citation from a source that is non biased. Can't do that.

Her minions think she is so wonderful. She quit having Christmas because she knows Christ wasn't born on the 25th of December. I told her I didn't care when he was born, it was the way to celebrate it. She thinks it's pagan , so what? The reason there is a creche goes back to the days when people were illiterate and the priests and church leaders created a way to show the story. They are probably doing this because they can't afford to buy their kids gifts. Cheap bastards.

And then in another post (which she conveniently deletes every other day) she mentions that they traveled to a friends house for Christmas and had a great time. CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. People remember. And nothing is forever gone in the internets.

Yeppers. Well we needed them.

Today I cleaned the kitchen, we installed a plug strip where it was needed by the stove, put everything that had to go into the dishwasher in it and turned it on, did some laundry and made my list for tomorrow.
Grocery, home, clean bathrooms, vacuum, pick up detritus of normal life.

And got a new toilet seat that doesn't pinch. 8-)

Good Christmas, hopefully the new year will be better than this one.

Thoughts on the Duggars and their loss

I am sorry that they lost their 20th child to a miscarriage.

I am appalled that they would use People magazine for their updates, have their fame whore niece post pictures of the whole family smiling like monkeys at the memorial service, and mask their need for "privacy" with their greed to get TLC to carry their show another season. And who posts an obituary for a fetus? Plus shows pictures to the whole world at a memorial service while having an open box for the coffin? FAME WHORES!

Michelle is not much of a mother. Once the kid is weaned off it goes to their buddy and the buddy (girl of course) basically raises the child. She's addicted to having babies, and that's it. Why doesn't she show some concern for her children, like the young boy who fell into an orchestra pit in Atlanta and the first thing Mom does is whip out her IPhone and take pictures all the while smiling like a deranged monkey.

Their last child, Josie, seems to be suffering developmental delays and we never hear of any therapeutic work for her. She's nearly 2 and can't walk yet. Jim-bob's tired saying of buy used and save the difference doesn't cut it in the world of premature children. How hypocritical is it to thank God for saving the life of their preemie but not acknowledge the learned doctors and nurses in the NICU and PICU who were there round the clock and used their knowledge to tend to her. Michelle was forced to spend more time with Josie, because Josie was hanging on for dear life, literally. And after 19+ pregnancies, you'd think that her uterus was screaming enough already, I'm tired, I'm used up. And who in God's name would drag a fragile young child overseas to show her off. This ended up with Josie having to be hospitalized in Israel and being flown home with a doctor on the plane.

Knowledge that the Duggar children won't be able to know because of their devotion to the ATI mindset and Bill Gothard, who teaches that higher education is not necessary for women, because their goal in life is to be a wife and mother. No matter what, no birth control, natural family planning, or abstinence, because Gothard teaches you have to have a quiverfull to fight this big old mean world. Gothard's standards also dictate dress standards, how to wear your hair and patriarchy.

Thought I'd throw that in at the end. Where the father is the BOSS. And the sons are the boss, and the wife and daughters are the chattel, like cattle in the feedlot. Where the almighty penis seems to infer superiority. Where daughters stay at home till their Prince Charming comes to call, court, and marry, usually within a few months. Where other daughters sit at home and watch the years pass by and no Prince Charming knocks on their door, so they wind up as old maids, still living under Dad's thumb, under educated, no job (women working is EVIL) and trying to STAY SWEET. Where people go from not touching, holding hands, hugging,of the opposite sex to marriage in less than a month or two usually? Unprepared, unknowing, except that the husband is the boss and he can treat you if he wishes as less than dirt. I'd sure as hell not want to marry someone I didn't have anything in common but religion. Not having long unchaperoned visits, not being able to talk on the phone unless there was someone else in the room or on an extension. Yeah right. What is the sense of going from 0-60 without some instruction?

Ok I don't believe in this kind of blind devotion to the teachings of a 70 something man who never married. As is my opposition to priests not being married. How can you counsel someone in a relationship if you live without a partner? Books teach you, but common sense and practice mean a lot more.

I thank God that I was born into a family who treasured education, who believed that Christ's grace was freely given to all, who didn't mind that their children worked before and after marriage.

loves anthropology and meteorology. She also loves Disneyland. She goes as often as she can and has the best pass you can get. Last night after work she and a friend went. She took this picture:

This Sunday my Mom turns 87. Yesterday we drove up to Camarillo to the outlet mall. It was a nice drive up the coast and we didn't overdo it. We had lunch at Panera. I love to go to lunch there. 1. This Packer game is pretty wild. They're getting more opposition than they've seen all year.
2. I was reading the new budget for the church, I am not thrilled they are giving the organist a raise. If she could play a decent service, then I wouldn't bitch. But the girl has no idea regarding a real prelude and postlude and playing all four parts of a hymn. She's got an organist's edition of the liturgy and hymnal but prefers to play out the congregational hymnal and improvise. She's not a good improvisor either.
3. I have discovered that if I take my immunosuppresant with milk, it doesn't bother my stomach that much. So I get a glass of milk in the morning as well as at lunch.
4. I need to get this house in order for the rest of the decorations to go up.

Anyhooooo. I got a new med. It's an immunosuppressant which might cause the hives to go away. Wouldn't that be nice? It's got a bunch of potential side effects. Game of Thrones

So I've read 3.5 of the books of Game of Thrones. I thoroughly enjoyed Books 1-3 but the 4th one has put me off the series. I've heard the 5th one is as bad as the 4th. I invested a lot of time reading them but I'm leaving the universe for a while.

So now I'm reading about Catherine the Great. I love Russian History. It's so varied and there is so much that isn't written. I wish I could take about 4 years of classes and really get into it. I took 2 upper division classes on Russian History in college and just touched on the greatness of the Empire. When I am done with this book, I am going to buy this author's book on the Romanov's.

Good bye to my mother in law Patricia Davis of Nederland Tx. She had a massive stroke and was left dependent on a vent. The vent will be removed tomorrow and she will be totally gone. Her soul and spirit left her body when the artery blew in her brain.

She is survived by:

This was the view from the window of the place I had brunch today. The big thing on the right side that looks like a bunker is a sand berm to prevent erosion from winter storms. This restaurant used to be a TACO BELL back in the day (1967-76). Then it became Scotties, and has been ever since. The best breakfast place in Hermosa Beach CA. I used to live in Hermosa Beach, before it got all uppity like it's northern neighbor Manhattan Beach. It used to be a place you could barhop down the street and someone would always make sure you made it safely home. I don't think that it's like that anymore. I'd love to live down there but it's not even feasible. $1900 for a 1 bedroom. Nope not anymore.

No I didn't forget....

I just wasn't in the mood for frivolity and writing today. I was itching too damn bad.
Last night I was sitting in the living room watching TV and all of a sudden my lip started to swell. I looked like a pig with a cleft palate. No dishonor to those people who had a cleft and had it surgically repaired. My face started to swell too. What I have to worry about is it getting into my throat and wind pipe. If that happens, we have to call 911 and get me intubated. Not a wonderful thought is it? I took some pictures so I can show the doctor when i see her on the 1st. It's not fun having red bumps all over your face and neck, shoulders, under your armpit, down your back....yeah.

Yeah pretty isn't it?

Saturday I'm going my nephew's wedding. I have to get them a gift card because i have no idea what they need. Target always seems a good idea. It will be interesting to see the interaction between his father and his mother who had a bitter divorce. I am going to tell them 3 things in the card:

Never go to bed angry
Never put one family over another
Love each other no matter what......

So now it's time to go to bed. To my book, my glass of water and my 9 lb protector.

I did it. A few days early.

I tuned both of my Pandora stations to Christmas Music. I like it. Advent starts the 27th so I am few days early, but I love listening to it.

The store is reeling with both Thanksgiving and Christmas goods. Baking, turkeys and all the good stuff. I'm going to Costco to look for a boneless breast and a ham. We'll have leftovers but that's okay. Nothing like next day turkey with fresh cranberry sauce over it and dressing. Dressing is easy, I'll do all the hard work on Tuesday and put it together Thursday morning. This oven is big enough to do a bird, a turkey dressing and sides.

One of my online friends has posted a recipe for home made vanilla using vodka and vanilla beans. I might give it a try. It takes a few weeks, but it would save money in the long run, since you can top it off after you decant into another container.

Itching like mad today. Have to take an anti itch pill now. Fun. Stress level needs to be decreased by 50% or more to get these things under control. While not me, this photo is basically what my back looks every day and it's not related to laundry soap or food intake or meds. If I don't take 300mg of Ranitidine every day I explode.

Have a good evening. I'll be back tomorrow, same place, but not the same time. Da bunny.

Then I say the Lord's Prayer. Every single night. For as long as I remember. It's comforting to know that the Lord will protect me through the night. From all things. I don't say a lot about my faith, I bitch about lousy church music, I rejoice in good choral concerts singing a Mozart Requiem, but my real faith, well that's between me and my God. I believe that I have freely received grace because it was offered to me without any strings. Accepted it and I was freed from the bondage of sin. I was baptized as an infant, and have been walking wet since then. I've accepted my place in the scheme of things. I may not ever do a miraculous thing, but I sure can pray for the Lord to help people deal with their troubles.

So tonight before you go to sleep, thank the person up there in the universe who's made things good for you. I don't claim to know where heaven is, it could be a 3rd dimension to this world, it could be far past the known galaxies in the ether, but I think it's there and I hope to be there someday.

It's just a normal Monday until there's a knock at the door and Fedex is there. Got some paperwork that might actually make my life a little easier. At least I hope so.

Saturday and why isn't my Football game on?

So it's college football Saturday and my favorite team the Badgers are playing the Gophers. WI v MN. And is it on any of the many channels showing football games? No. We got Penn State v Nebraska instead. And most of the news on the half time shows has been about Penn State and the child sex scandal. They have found that coaches are human beings and fallible.

The airplanes have been taking off west to east for nearly 1 1/2 days today. The winds have changed and the tower has to control them. It's cool because you don't usually get them roaring over your head while you are driving. Loves me my jets! They don't make 'em like these any more though.

I found a new game to play or rather sit back and watch it unfold on my Itouch. It's called Godville and you basically have a God/dess and hero. Fun. It's also online. It's fun. Mindless fun. Lord knows I need it right about now.

Rained last night and it's been sprinkling off and on today. The plants will like that. When we send in the rent for next month we are going to request that they clean the side yard of the house. It's a disaster and it's dangerous. We've lived here for 5 months and they promised it would be cleaned out. I can't do my garden if it's full of crap. Yes, this is how they left the side yard when we moved in. I'm tired of it, it's dangerous and it needs to be dealt with. Sooner than later.

When the husband gets home from San Diego I'm going to have him go with me to Costco. I need a couple of things and I just don't want to go by myself. We need to get some more of their Imodium brand. It's a lot cheaper there than it is at the drugstore. I also want to check prices on their Zantac clone. I found that I could buy it at Walmart 65 pills for $4, while Ralphs (Kroger) sells 24 for $8. Can we say RIPOFF!!!! Same exact pills.

So I don't have much else to say today. Packers play the Vikings on Monday night. Yeah.

A short rant.

I really hate answering the phone. I love text messages. Short, succinct and to the point. Why do I hate answering phones?

I worked in collections. Hence I made tons of phone calls.
I worked in credit, more phone calls.
I worked for a US Agency who had a lost and found department at an airport. Tons of phone calls in and out.
I hate answering my phone.

People call me to call other people because they don't like leaving messages, just want to hear my lovely voice, or think that by my calling or telling the other person, things will magically be accomplished. Bah. Bah. Bah. And that ain't from a sheep or goat either.

Damn it Dog, stop barking!

I have a dog who has severe separation anxiety. He does not like me to leave him. He will be okay if my daughter is home with him, but anyone else, he cries and cries. I've given him doggie downers but it doesn't much help.

Tonight I have to run a friend to the airport. This person is a very talented musician and conductor, but he's a luddite. He has a computer but no internet. Doesn't email, doesn't surf. Hard to get a hold of. I printed his boarding passes for him and gave him a map of his destination airport. I hope he makes his connection when he flies home from where he's going. He's got an hour in Detroit. Tomorrow morning he has 2 hours in Atlanta. Hope he has a good time. He's flying my not so favorite airline.

There's a storm that is supposed to touch us this weekend. I will believe it when I see it. Forecasters aren't sure about anything right now. It would be nice not to have to go anywhere or do anything this

weekend.

Tomorrow the hippie woman will come back and show us what she's been up to!

Monday - this week needs to be better!

So we made it through the weekend, a little cold and wet but safe in our snug house. Decided not to burn the logs last night, we're saving them for Terra Nova and House tonight.

I watched part of the Mark Harmon movie set in MSP last night. Wonder if that's closer to his character than old Jethro is? But he's been married to Pam Dawber for a long time and that's a miracle in Hollywood. It's that Catholic upbringing I bet.

The ham bone is in the pot and will cook for an hour, I'll take the meat off and then I'll add the celery, carrots and yellow split peas. No green peas in this house, only yellow! Just at the very end I'll add some potato flakes to thicken the soup up. I like my pea soup thick and thicker. My kids love it and I have some fresh bread and/or crackers to go with. I might even have a salad on the side.

My hives have settled down. Last week they were horrible. It's stress related so now we need to deal with the stress. I was so swollen it wasn't funny. I wish I could do like the song says, Don't Worry Be Happy.

So how 'bout those Packers, eh? Cheese heads rule, doncha know!

We celebrated All Saints Day today at church. It was nice, except most of the hymns were not well known so it sounded kinda sparse in the singing realm. We always sing For All The Saints with the tune from Ralph Vaughn Williams:

My uncle Wayne's name was on the list today. I got pretty teary eyed over the whole service. I guess I was thinking a lot about my stepdad this week, driving his old station wagon and feeling him near. Strange things.

Today was my trip to Costco. Though because of car repairs we are broker than broke, my mom took me shopping. Thank God for my Mom today. We got the groceries and they are put away, the meat is divided into portions and in the freezer. The house is cold, last night was really cold. Looking forward to lighting a fire and getting warm.

Might bake some cookies this afternoon. I've got a craving for sweets but there's really nothing sweet in the house. We shall see about that.

Rain is over for the time being. Was good to have it, cleaned out the air here. Snow in the mountains. Peace in the valley. (good metaphor ?)

A broke scamp. All my grocery money, costco money, christmas present money was thrown at the altar of the almighty car today. But it's running, it's got gas, and it doesn't stall. Am I thrilled? I guess so, but the thought of top ramen scares me. It'll take us a couple of weeks to catch up. Not exactly a thrilling prospect.

Lit the fire and have been reading my book. Cold outside and I don't know where my jacket is. Not thrilled about that.

Got up early to follow the husband over to the body shop to get his van fixed from the intrusion it suffered. Then he went to the dentist to get a crown prepped. Had to pick him back up and take him to the van. Got a call from the garage, that in addition to everything else we needed a new battery. $$$. I don't look like I am rich. Drove the sled over to the mechanic, left it there because it needed to have the muffler checked. Paid my bill and came home in the pouring rain. Turned on the heater and then got the fire lit so I turned the heater down. Why waste the gas when I can have a fire?

HAve to be at LAX tonight at 2100 to pick up the wandering daughter. She told me she's really considering moving to Chicago in 2 years. I could handle her being gone because I think she's totally the more mature child.

Today I have things to say.
Picked up the car. Had to be jumped.
Drove it to rental car place to drop off rental. Car died. Car wouldn't jump, tried hitting starter. No Joy.
Called my mom. She came with her AAA card. Called towing service. They hooked up and we took it to her mechanic. Mechanic says I'll do estimate and call you back. Mechanic calls me back. 1/2 a paycheck to do major tune up. Says it will be as good as new. S'okay. Will be done tomorrow afternoon. The perks of having a local mechanic.

So. My.Rant.

Today we drove out to Downtown Disney, which is adjacent to Disneyland and California Adventure. My dear daughter is leaving tomorrow for a week in Chicago and she wanted to get some specific pins for her twinnie and family. We went to two different places to get them, both of them Disney Pin Trader areas. (At the last one, I would have sworn it was Ed Grimley waiting on us).

Since I didn't need to go wander through the many expensive stores selling needless items at grossly inflated prices, I watched people. A lot of people getting ready to go the Park in costume for the Halloween Haunt, of all ages. And then the stroller babies. I have a thing about babies, wee tiny babies who are dependent for all their needs from their parents going to amusement parks.

The parents can't ride the good rides together.
The babies don't care about Fantasyland, the princesses, the unique smell of Disneyland popcorn.
The babies could care less about Small World and the boats.

I'm just a mean old lady but my kids were 5 & 7 when they crossed the gates of the magic kingdom. They could enjoy it, my daughter hated Captain Hook when she met him, but my son was enthralled. Now as adults they take advantage of their passes and go at least once a month.

Wait till your children can appreciate it. A 5 month old baby doesn't care.

Rant over.

Hives are really bad today.

Cards won the World Series.

Yesterday wasn't a banner day. It was rather a down day. So I shined on the Shuffle.

Today I drove up the coast through Malibu to Camarillo and back. Spent some money on serving dishes and shoes and I'm happy.

Rental Car

The other guys insurance came through and our car is in the shop. He gave me a reservation number at Enterprise and we went over there to get a car to drive. They want $$$ as a deposit. I looked at them and said what? If we were ordinary off the street city Residents we'd have to produce utility bills, wage statements and a 400$ deposit if we'd use a debit card. My son had enough to put a deposit down, so we rolled out with a Ford Focus. Nice car. An awful lot of hassle to confirm identity. My utility bills are online, basically every bill I have is online. What do you do then? This area isn't exactly upper class, but it's not the bottom of the barrel either.

I hope this weekend is low key and without any traumatic occurrences. It would be nice to have things be settled. I do have to go shopping and buy some things to send to my swap partner from my message board buddy. I know what I want to get, some relaxing fun things to pamper her self with. So I'll do that and enjoy it when she gets her package.

I got a letter from the insurance company that I have through the agency. They are going to stop being providers to our group. I wrote a letter to the overseers to find out where I send my paperwork for the change. I hope they answer in a timely manner. Like before open season is over.

Wednesday Whistling.....

Last night my son took my daughter to school and then went to KFC. Well he started to at least. He was in the turn lane with clear traffic, he started his turn, and someone making a left from the parking lot across the street made a left turn into him. He wasn't hurt, nor was his passenger (thank God, a Witness) but he was upset. So today, I was expected to do all the heavy lifting, contacting our lien holder, the other drivers insurance (he's claiming it wasn't his fault) and getting stuff written down. I need to get paid for shit like this.

It was overcast and cool again this morning. This is nice weather. I'd light a fire but someone used up all my big logs. Such is life.

So such are the ramblings of the bunny.
