I put another candle on the birthday cake

My daughter and I went to the Los Angeles Zoo. We missed the Killer Monkeys, but we saw a well developed ass end of a silverback gorilla, a rhinoceros who favored us with his back side as well. Monitor lizards, the new LAIR, Living Amphibians, Invertebrates & Reptiles. I'm not fond of creepy crawlies but they were well protected behind glass.

Today I went with my mom to her Retinal doctor because she has wet macular degeneration in both eyes. The doctor assured her she's be seeing better within a 8 months by going to join a clinical trial. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

I am going to end this short missive tonight. I have a wedding and reception to go to tomorrow and I'm beat tonight.

Ciao peeps.

Every time I drive by Fox Studios I sniffle a little.

Living out of Coleman Campers & I gotta get away

The fridge saga continues. It's supposed to be here tomorrow between 1130 and 1330.
I will believe it when I see it.

This weekend we did some sightseeing in the area. We went down to the Seaman's Memorial in San Pedro and took Duffy T Dog along for a ride.
Duffy was not going to even think about going in the fountain.

Duffy and The Rabbit at the end of a 68' cannon barrel
Duffy being distracted by boats in the harbor, and the Rabbit looking at the loading end of the barrel. If you look closely you can see the mast of the USS Iowa which now lives alongside the LA Harbor Main Channel in San Pedro. It will open to the public July 7th.

The Merchant Marine Memorial. Behind it on the slabs are the names of the CA merchant marine seamen who lost their lives in service to their country.

Tuna Fisherman Memorial.
There is a church in San Pedro called Maria Stella Mare
Mary Star of the Sea where Christ is holding a tuna boat.

This is Redondo Beach. The view from El Torito Restaurant where my friend, my daughter and I celebrated my birthday early with tequila. It was a lovely day.

Peace and Out Kiddos.

So Nashville is gone like the wind

I was really hoping to go to Nashville for the convention (AGO) but it's slipping away like the sand does in the tide.
Our fridge died last weekend and we bought a new one to be delivered today. But, it was too wide. The slot for the fridge was not wide enough. Went back to the store and we picked out another one by the same manufacturer that was narrower and a bit smaller. It was higher priced!!!! I said can you knock it down to what we paid? Supposedly we're going to hear tomorrow when the delivery will be. in the meantime coolers are overtaking my kitchen.

Next week is my birthday. I'm hopefully going out to dinner. If not, I would not want to be around this house at all.

Outside my window. . . 62, June Gloom,breezy

I am thinking…  today I have proof that karma exists

I am thankful for…  my daughter who’s wise beyond her years.

From the learning rooms… the earth is so interesting

I can't believe . . .he’d leave me with -0- gas and then tell me to grow up

From the kitchen . . . Nothing. Fridge died.

I am wearing…  brown leggings, dansko clogs, blouse

I am creating . . . nothing right now

I am going…   to go to the grocery store and get something to cook on the grill

I am reading . . . “Volcano Watch”

I am hoping…  things start looking up

I am hearing…  Law and Order: CI

Around the house. . .  Coolers filled with stuff from the fridge

One of my favorite things… shoe shopping

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.  See the ortho tomorrow for my finger
2.  Empty the laundry basket
3.  Write some letters

Here is a picture for thought I am sharing:

Doug Phillips is a tool . . . . updated

We add this little reminder . . . .

What in the blue blazes is a manhood arsenal?
Who comes up with these things?
Good grief.

Not only is he a tool, he's a mean spirited little man who tells his family members that don't agree with his type of patriarchal nonsense that they are fools and they will go to hell. Nice kind of relative, huh? Mean spirited & evil.

Yesterday was my 747th post

In honor of that (and the fact that I've kept this blog up) here is the queen of the skies and my favorite airline:

I flew on these planes during my restless teens and twenties. I loved this airplane. I loved riding in the front, going upstairs to the lounge, and just being on her. She took me to Paris, London, cross this country more times than I can count.

We will wait and see

I needed new glasses. I went to Lenscrafters with my Rx and they wanted over $400 for a pair of glasses even after my insurance. I said thank you no. A friend of mine in Memphis said if you have your Rx you can go to this website and get exactly what you need for a lot less.

So I did. I went to zennioptical.com and ordered a pair of nice glasses with progressive lenses and transitions for 126.95. They'll be here in about 2 1/2 weeks, hopefully before I leave for Nashville.

Nashville is tentative if all the i's can be dotted and t's can be crossed. It's for the AGO 2012 convention. I am really hoping that I can go. Trusting that it will happen. The concerts that are scheduled are wonderful, the city is bursting with things to see.

Peace. Out.

Outside my window. . . 65, moonlit

I am thinking… I have to call the doctor again Monday.

I am thankful for…  good antibiotics.

From the learning rooms… I’m reading a book about pre-WW2 Germany. Fascinating!

I can't believe . . . I actually got my husband to do something other than watch TV.

From the kitchen . . . Brats and hot dogs tomorrow on the grill.

I am wearing…  sweats and a big ole t-shirt.

I am creating . . . a quiet place to sleep

I am going…   to get into bed soon.

I am reading . . . “In the Garden of Evil”

I am hoping…  tomorrow is nice

I am hearing…  Iron Chef America

Around the house. . .  Tomorrow dinner with MOM at my house

One of my favorite things… sweet apples

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.  Call the doctor
2.  Finish my book
3.  Work on the deck
