So we found out what my problem was. . . . .

This puppy was the culprit.
Now I'm on a very strong antibiotic and I'm drinking lots of liquid.
Hopefully the pain will be gone soon.
This could have been a lot worse than it was.
Thankfully it wasn't.

Pay attention to your body.
Don't ignore symptoms.

Oh I forgot something, it's new at LAX

Air France is now bringing its A380 for flights 65/66 into LAX. The airport is being proactive and has electronic signs at the pertinent exits for the people who are meeting or delivering passengers. This is a good thing. Normally AF comes into Terminal 2, but the A380 is using the Tom Bradley International Terminal aka TBIT. TBIT is undergoing a huge construction project which will go on ad infinitum due to $$$ change orders and contractor issues. When it's finally done, the existing terminal will be torn down to make a kinder gentler terminal area.  So we welcome the new plane to LAX.

One more thing, the vaunted new luggage security area which is in place at TBIT is not doing what they wanted.
A $140-million baggage screening facility that was part of a recent remodel of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport has been able to process only about half the luggage it was designed to handle, airport officials said Monday.
Deputy Airport Director Roger Johnson said the facility, which relies on a complicated system of conveyors to feed bags into and out of security scanners, was supposed to screen 3,240 pieces of luggage an hour but has been processing between 1,500 and 1,800 bags an hour.
Because of the problem, Johnson said that occasionally during peak travel times bags have had to be taken to the nearby American Airlines terminal so to be scanned before being returned to Bradley and loaded onto international flights.
“It has not been that often, but it is problematic,” Johnson said.
He attributed the capacity issues to inadequate operational procedures, not breakdowns of the machinery, which is housed in a 45,000-square-foot annex that was included in a $737-million remodel of the Bradley Terminal that was completed in 2010.
 This is the TSA's area of concern. Either they aren't staffing the luggage screening area properly or they aren't moving fast enough with the amount of bags coming in. Can't do the old we'll not do 10% of the bags to move things along anymore, which is what I heard happened in the old days.

Have a nice week.

Chili con carne not chili macaroni.

When I was growing up chili was tomatos, some ground chili pepper, hamburger, some onions and macaroni. This was the norm. Probably the same norm that a good number of households in the primarily German/Polish area of the state we lived in.

As I got older, my tastes were refined. I found that chili, in this state is not the same as what I grew up with. It can be red or white, with meat, with beans, one with one and some with none. Kidney beans could be replaced with pinto beans, black beans, broad beans.

I've pretty much come to a conclusion that there is not one right way to make the soup. So today I've cut up 2 sweet onions, thrown in some crushed garlic to sweat in oil, 1.3 lbs of choice cut up beef sirloin, 1 can of crushed tomatos, 2 cans of fire roasted tomatos, 1 can of chili tomatos, 1 large can of red kidney beans, 1 regular can of black beans. To that I added a mixture of dark ground chili pepper, ground ancho chili, ground chipotle chili, ground red pepper flakes, some Spanish paprika, and 1 shot of Chipotle Tabasco. Now it's simmering on the back burner and in about 2 1/2 hours it will be food. This is is:

Peace.

Outside my window. . . 71, sunny and breezy

I am thinking… it could have been like this yesterday.

I am thankful for…  going out to lunch with my kiddo.

From the learning rooms… I found the local police/fire on the scanner on my iTouch. Simple things!

I can't believe . . . how tired I am right now.

From the kitchen . . . I made seafood lasagna yesterday

I am wearing…  new shorts, UK tee shirt and flip flops.

I am creating . . . the energy to clean

I am going…   to start another load of laundry (ditto)

I am reading . . . A bunch of stuff, depends what room I’m in

I am hoping…  the sunny days continue

I am hearing…  the news on KABC 7.

Around the house. . .  Tomorrow: weed whacking!

One of my favorite things… sweet perfume

A few plans for the rest of the week
1.  Doctor on Thursday
2.  Bible Study on Tuesday
3.  Get a little sun

Whew

Today was one of those days. My mom picked me up and I drove her to the orthopedist who is a really nice doctor. He agreed that she should go back to therapy and she will. Then we braved the aisles of Costco, she pushed the cart, while I ran the aisles. Trader Joes was next and I strongly suggested to her that she should get Cookie Butter. OMG, that stuff is like crack.

Tomorrow morning we'll be at it again. This time to the Alpine Market to pick up some wonderful tasty German pickles for our dinner on Sunday. Sunday we're having seafood lasagna for our Mother's Day dinner. Mom loves it, I can make it, and my husband thinks it's wonderful. I would prefer a nice steak, baked potatos and some carrots and parsnips parboiled and cooked in a nice orange juice glaze. I'll get myself some nice boneless thin pork chops, sauerkraut and mashed potatos and make it for myself one night next week.

After I got home, I called my friend because he wanted to get a Starbucks and chat for a while. It was pleasant to see him and we talked for about an hour about things we've seen while apart. We used to be quite the pair, going places and doing things that ranged from conventions to concerts to just hanging out around the pool. He has a birthday this week and turns 67 and is going to Catalina for a couple of days to relax.
Lucky him.

Have a good start to your weekend.

Dream another dream of me....& a comment re that person who says I'm mean

Last night I had another one of those dreams with someone who I really used to like a lot. If it ever came true I'd be Alice in Wonderland and then some. I wasn't even thinking of this person. And there were others who were complicit in the dream as well. Like running through barriers separating sides of a runway from a street... and it ending up somewhere totally different. Now if I'd been drinking, you know I might understand it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And she flounced and came back. And she did the same damn thing almost exactly 1 year ago. Wild.
She's reinventing herself into a parable of fascinating womanhood. And taking over an innocent FB group too. Sorry C, you're a fake. Pure and simple. Get over yourself. Try to be honest, realize there are valid versions of the Bible. You'd have a hard time in France and Spain telling them the KJV is the only version of the Bible. Later honey pie.
